1. With a coach that makes atheletes cry on a regular basis. (this is how brutal the coach is)
2. Makes fun of their atheletes right in front of practice
3. Has a very high injury rate of his atheletes. About 50% of the varsity crew is injured every year.
4. Trains with 2-3 interval types of workouts a week with a race
5. Makes fun of atheletes calling them "pansies" "pre-madonnas" just calling them a loser.
6. Sucking the love out of running for their atheletes.
7. Doesn't listen to anyone for training help, even with the issue that his program sucks.
8. He has been known to sexually harass girls on our xc team.
This is issue is not about me this is more about my team. I am strong enough to embrace bad fortunes I have received and just go as it is. I have graduated form this high school program. So I could care less now. There are guys on the team which have cried numerous times. He makes fun of the guys in practice. He talks behind their backs. Hes made our captain cry this year. Hes made regular kids cry this year. Hes made our fastest national calliber runner cry this year. One of our varsity guys quit. The guys would have gone to state this year. They still can. But two more varsity guys are planning on quitting too. These varsity guys are national calliber runners (well at least one of em) and the others are like 4:30 milers.
It just hurts me when all these guys are suffering through his crappy motives and being injured. It just hurts me just because of one selfless jackass people are getting injured, losing hte love and basically there is not ONE guy that gives him 100% respect.
Injuries on the varsity team past two years
Some injuries include a 4:18 miler getting stress fractures in his foot. Groin fractures or whatever (was out for like 4-5 weeks) Another stress fracture in the foot. Another Stress fracture in the foot again. Hip Flexor problems. Another FOOT STRESS FRacture. Tendonitis....this is only what i recall in like 20 seconds. There have been much more kids that have been injured ont even varsity quality.
Basically half our varsity is gone every year because of these types of injuries. I wouldnt be talking about injuries if they were strains, sprains, bruises, cuts. This is the real deal.
This coach is a monster. He sexually harasses girls as well, and the girls have told me on numerous occasions they don't feel comfortable.
He gets pleasure out of tellings kids crap. He gets pleasure out of makiing fun of kids in front of practice twoard other kids.
Our 3rd man quit fromt he xc team
Our first man is going to quit (national calliber runner) because the coach will not allow him to specially train for nationals. This coach wants him to do 40-50 miles tops in season. With 2-3 workouts a week. With a race.
If 1 drops out. 4 drops out because 4 is good friends with 1 and 4 hates the coach equally.
So that leaves the varsity team with 2 and 5.
Our coach did ban #1 from practices in track this year. He also banned #1 from summer practices. Summer practices are not mandatory. So he cannot do this. #1 and the caoch had a huge argument with the schools atheltic director.
#1 is on the verge of quitting. But is weighing out the positives and negatives.
#1 is not even being coached by our school coach anymore. Many Washingtonians know this, but it may be news for some.
#1 looking at nationals, but wonders if it is right choice. Deeply stressed out family and what not. Coach makes fun of #1 in front of practice. Coach makes #1 cry. Coach is a douchebag.
I would like to end this abuse from this coach. He makes me sick. What should be done in a situation as this?
