USA are nearly as bad as France now with their glut of African born athletes running aorund in USA singlets!! Whats with this? Meb, Abdi, Lagat, and Khannouchi! Soon the whole team might be Africans like the French team full of North Africans. Actually it is verging on being as bad as Qatar!!
What's up with the Canadian, Lennox Lewis? You British arseholes run around talking about how great he is and he's a f'ing Canadian. You've even convinced him he's British , fake accent and all.
Actually, he was never really accepted (and that's a bad thing) the same way that Frank Bruno, Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank, Prince Naseem Hamed or the other great British-born boxers were accepted. I'm not sure what Lennox Lewis has to do with anything anyway, and I'm pretty sure that UKafrican is not really African as he'd be more tolerant of ethnic diversity and would have a clearer concpet of what it TRULY means to be "British" or "American" if he was.
i dont think khannouchi ever wore a US singlet, and so far neither has lagat
meb and abdi both came over to the US way before they were good runners, which makes the US a little different than say a Qatar which pays already developed kenyans to defect.
Don't put Khannouchi in the same category as Meb or Abdi. He hasn't done squat for the US nor even seriously tried to squat for the US. He always seemed to peak for the big money races and somehow get injured or go lame when the olympics or WCs rolled around. He is no different than the kenyans that live here for the racing season and go back home during the offseason.

See, the whole problem with that arguement is that Quatar and Bahrain bought the Kenyan talent. They told them to come, become citizens, and run for their new country and they will be handsomely paid, trained, taken care of, and all that jazz. The Africans that run for France were not bought off. The Africans that run for the USA were not bought off. Meb and Abdi moves here when they were kids. KK and Lagat came over because they want to live here, not because we are paying them to do so.
Both Meb and Abdi have been living in the US since high school or before. KK has been training and living here since before he was a good marathoner. Frank Shorter was born in Germany.
