It's 6 am there. How did you just run Magnolia Road? were you drunk?
The reservoir northeast of town gets lots of runners. There isn't much shade, so go early.
Also, there are a lot of trails at Flatiron Park- lots of climbs, but it is beautiful. The park is on the sw side of town.
Magnolia road is boring, out and back and dusty.
The res. is also pretty boring but not as bad as Magnolia.
When i lived there my favorite was dowdy draw community ditch on to Marshall Mesa, sometimes the other way to the Mesa Trail.
If i wanted to do an out and back, i would go to Switzerland trail which could also be a 15 mile loop.
i was in colorado the other week and did mesa trail starting by that mountain where the blue mesa trail is and the part that i did run was way too rocky to get in a good pace. i may have just not run far enough on it because i had been looking all around the mountain for it for the hour beforehand, but i didnt really like it.
