i am a 25 year old female that has played sports (basketball, lacrosse, skiing) all my life. i currently teach hs and started running a bit on the track this summer. i ran the 800 and the mile mainly with pr's of 2:20 and 5:16. i attend workouts with a local track club (on a dirt track!) once or twice per week, but it's nothing very serious.
i was wondering how one should progress with mileage. where should i even start? i would like to continue running the 800 and mile. i currently run about 20-25 mpw. should i try and increase my mileage? and what is a gradual way to increase it? i have never run before, so i don't see myself hitting heavy duty mileage this fall, but would like to improve.
Any suggestions? Thanx.
