Hello all,
I am a sophomore in high school, with a goal of eventually being able to run at a collegiate level. I began the year with a goal of a sub 18:00 3 mile by the conference meet. However, my season has been derailed by a sinus infection, patellar tendonitis, and a hip flexor injury. These injuries have prevented me from running the times I've wanted to. My 3-mile personal record still stands from the very first 3 mile meet of the season, a 19:18. However, I am finally in shape again and ready to begin rigorous training. This Saturday, I ran a 19:22 on a pretty terrible course with very light training in the weeks prior. My conference meet is exactly two weeks from this past Saturday. Is my beginning of the season goal of an 18:00 3 mile still feasible? Or should I aim to shoot lower and focus on track season? Any and all feedback would be appreciated. Thank you!
