Jenny simpson is hurt by that 1500m american record lol jk but seriously we will never know who did what until we see documents. At least give the runners that. Maybe not Rupp though he has been there through everything

True. Rupp is the typical cult follower. He won't question anything, he just does as his cult leader says so. If Alberto would order Rupp to ..."lick your own smegma, it improves your max VO2 by 12%" Rupp would do so immediately.
Tragic.
Pete has been working with the NOP for 7 years, and even worked with Alberto during the 2008 Trials. He never blew the whistle like the other people who worked with the NOP, look at the USADA document, 20 people did, under oath.
Pete is also a cheater.
Same with Darren Treasurer.
Shannon was a Nike athlete with countless options when John Cook retired.
She joined this group fully knowing what their operation was about, then after the age of 32, easily set 2 american records while in this group and PR’d in every event from the 800 on up.
Same profile as Rupp, Kara, Sifan, KK and the rest of the dopers on this team.
If someone like shannon (pretty quiet, fairly reserved, naturally talented) could have done it all over again, what would have been her better move? She signed with them in 2007, she was what—22? It just seems like she was building a very strong career with NOP from the beginning, so you could see why it never made sense for her to leave. So then the doping allegations come out and she chooses to put the blinders on and stay in her lane. IThe other former NOPers who spoke out lost their contracts with Nike, right? No one actually chose to leave *because of*the allegations, correct?
Just playing devil’s advocate for someone like Shannon.

They "chose to leave *because of*the allegations", they "spoke out", then "lost their contracts with Nike".

She did NOT join NOP in 2007. Would have been a great post otherwise.

She hasn’t been with them since 2007 you idiot.
*Nike since 2007
**NOP since 2013
?
She’s had success as a NIKE athlete since 2007

Hundreds of NIKE athletes have had success since 2007.
Thanks dude. I actually ran against shannon in high school and college and know her—at least when she was a teen and 20-something, so her silence until now was not surprising, knowing her personality.
I know she didn’t sign with NOP in 2007.
Jenny actually has a better coach. Wetmore > Salazar.

Yes, and yet if Jenny was and is ahead of Rowbury, how much harder is it to believe she is clean as well?
People should really read the report and pay attention to the dates, and the athletes named!

Shannon Rowbury was still in London for the 2012 Olympics when she was complaining about the Turkish 1500 meter runners. She rightfully kept complaining about them because they were drug cheats.
How for the last 5 years can she support a big drug cheat like Alberto Salazar?
Maybe the only smart one is this whole mess is Mary Cain.

This.
As usual, a lot of comments here from others just aren't factually accurate.
Shannon was under Nike contract and when Cooke retired was placed into NOP. There weren't a lot of options for a contract runner and Nike is the dominant source of them. Leo decided to stay in Texas and he lost his Nike contract renewal (partly due to he wanted after getting silver, but also because he chose his own coach outside the Nike system). What should she have done? How many NB or Adidas contracts are really available to US women mid distance runners?
Shannon has been coached mostly by Pete since joining NOP, not just the last two years. Probably a reason for that... The team is also fragmented and does little training together.
Salazar got what he deserved, though it didn't seem to be anything really new this week from what was already reported (and, by the way, the nicest worded ban probably ever written, almost sounded like they were apologizing).
All these non-Nike athletes throwing shade on their fellow competitors without any evidence is gutless and petty. Jenny is fortunate to have a nice NB and has now turned this fortune into unnecessary smugness and backhanded allegations. I am no longer a fan.

I don't disagree. I also think it's a bit presumptuous to for Jordan, Shannon and Craig to be posting the very day after it happened, with Shannon and Craig pulling the "I don't know him" BS and Jordan lamenting over what a lovely father figure he was to her. Don't they realize how tone deaf this is? Affiliating with someone who has been under investigation appears shady, and they can blame the 'haters' all they want but they chose to do this, and thus, disregard the integrity of the sport. They are and should be scrutinized. And what they SHOULD have done instead of all this mealy-mouthing is directly take responsibility for their choices, if they were going to post anything at all. These posts make it seem like they see themselves as innocent victims trying to crawl out of a situation they are responsible for, because they helped legitimize a dirty coach.
I refused to read the rest of your post after that quote -- go ahead and take a look at the US champs/trials appearances for New Balance sponsored women. They may not win the most titles in the US (outside of Jenny and Courn), but NB sponsors a good half of women's US mid d/distance runners. Simpson, Coburn, Martinez, Purrier, D'Agastino, McGee. Those 6 names alone (from the top of my head) will total nearly any other brand's world/oly appearances in the last 10 years.
She may or may not have had a choice to join NOP as a member of Nike, but don't pretend there weren't other options.

She likely didn't even know the scope of what was going on in 2012 until the articles came out in 2015. Conveniently she started working with Pete at the beginning of the 2016 season. Sounds like she went to Alberto and said, I'm going with Pete. Either that or Alberto didn't want to coach her or dropped her off to Pete. I remember an interview (maybe Flotrack) before Rio, and they asked "how has things been going with Alberto" and she said "well, I'm training with Pete now" in a hesitant voice. I'd like to know the details behind the coaching switch and if the allegations and reports had anything to do with it.
Seems to me like Rowbury checks out and actually wanted to distance herself. She mentioned on instagram, the "mistakes she made". Why would she call it a mistake if she didn't think leaving the group in 2015 or joining them in the first place (upon opposition of ex-coach John Cook) was the best decision.
Also, her comments check out to me. When you're a Nike distance athletes, there's not a ton of options. OTC wasn't a good fits for her and in 2013, Shalane and Kara were the only females at BTC and they were marathoners. Nike gives you more money when you train with their groups and you don't have to pay a coaching fee. Where else was she going to go, a private group with no teammates to train with at her ability? She's also very close to her family (San Fransisco) and had a now husband at the time. It made much more sense logistically being in Oregon, than all the way on the other side of the country in North Carolina.
