KD put money on the Raptors. He told Klay he'd split it with him 50/50.

Do NBA players know the games are predetermined or is it just the refs?
If the players knew they may not play as hard or someone could leak the fix to the media. On the other hand players get paid more for "competitive" series like this one, so do they even care?
Discus.
Refs may be directed to keep it close but still... if Curry got that 3 pointer with seconds left that likely would have forced a game 7 at least. More games more money right?
Perhaps the biggest referee impact is in Hockey.

I don't think they are predetermined. I do think that when the refs get a chance to, they try to keep them close. They also try to extend some series when they have the chance. They can't fix everything or it would be too obvious.
This is correct. They have been doing it for years. The payoff for the refs that are the best at it is they get to ref all the big games (and get paid more)

It is not fixed. I have been friends with steph curry a long time and believe me after last night he was devastated. He focuses so much time improving his skills; way more than any runner who is not an elite. You really think he does all that just to lose on purpose?
He may not be one of the fixxers. That's the problem.
To the person said they can't be fixed because the games are so close; I argue that the games are so close because they are fixed. There are too many tit-for-tat points in the finals. There are hardly ever any blowouts which occur pretty regularly in other sports.
There was a time when people thought the WWF was real, too.
Toronto only won because the NBA wants to go international and what's more international than the first ever NBA championship in Canada?

Maybe 50 years ago, but it was obvious and widely known in the 1970s that professional wrestling was merely entertainment. The reason Andy Kaufman and Jerry Lawler wrestled was to reignite interest in the event. WWF/WWE took off soon after.
Regardless, pro wrestlers are amazing, skilled athletes and they do put on an entertaining show.

Were we watching the same game? The Rapty were the better team by far. Maybe not with KD & Thompson in but in this series they looked good. Curry looked off all playoffs.
Sure the foul calls will be about equal for either team. Yes it's the way things work. No it's not fixed. The refs could call 50 fouls a quarter in today's physical game so they let some plays slide while calling others. The refs tend to keep the fouls called against each team about equal.
The Raptors are a very good team but beating GS with KD, Thompson and Curr was a lot to ask. Without KD and Thompson things got a lot more equal. With the Raptors bench and D stepping up the Raptors won and that's a good result. They earned the Title. For GS unfortunate injuries took two top players off the court and nobody is great without their best players in the line up. That's part of sport - injuries, but still as a fan of the sport I wish those guys a good recovery.
