Do NBA players know the games are predetermined or is it just the refs?

We already know about the refs, but for players, it's hard to say.

- There was the Lebron finals vs Dallas where he looked like he didn't want it.

- There were a couple of times where James Harden didn't show up in the playoffs. Not because he chocked, he just didn't put any effort.

- Everybody still questions Chris Webber timeout in college

- K.D. winning his first championship and then only 5 mins later, you see him in a Nike commercial winning that championship.

the additional income from a couple of extra games is minuscule compared to the amount they would lose if it was exposed games were fixed.

Plus, it was fixed....why have the New York Knicks sucked for longer than most players have been alive?? Why did the Lakers miss the playoffs?

The Henry Hill Gang were fixing college basketball games in 1970's. College kids are broke, so Henry Hill and the rest of the "Good Fellas" took advantage. I think only one NBA ref has gotten caught fixing NBA games over the past dozen years. I am certain Ref Tim Donaghy is/was not the only dirty NBA ref.

This is really dumb. If the NBA were actually fixing games, why did they let things end tonight in 6, instead of forcing a game 7 in Toronto which would have been a mega-event?

In the mid-2000's the Phoenix Suns were the most entertaining team in the league, led by one of the league's most popular stars. Yet they never made the finals while the San Antonio Spurs, widely derided as boring, won 3 titles.

2009: There's this huge marketing campaign setting up LeBron vs Kobe. The Lakers make the Finals, but LeBron loses in the East finals to Orlando.

The Tim Donaghy story should have been huge, most people never heard about it. The NBA wanted the story buried and it was in their best interest for the sports media to comply. I don't know how you can say for certain that no other ref fixes games.

I don't think the games are fixed but anyone with eyes can see the refs put their finger on the scale to help series reach seven games.

Was KD's surgery fake?

I don't think they are predetermined. I do think that when the refs get a chance to, they try to keep them close. They also try to extend some series when they have the chance. They can't fix everything or it would be too obvious.

It is not fixed. I have been friends with steph curry a long time and believe me after last night he was devastated. He focuses so much time improving his skills; way more than any runner who is not an elite. You really think he does all that just to lose on purpose?
