Just take note of how there are no "acceptably fat" men in that photo. They aren't advocating for fat men, because the unwritten and accepted narrative is that it isn't attractive for a man to be fat. Those guys get labeled as losers and creepy.
I just wanted to say that I didn't make this thread just to have a pop at fat women per se. And also I wouldn't equate attractiveness (or lack thereof) with weight either. One of the women who was interviewed (apparently a plus size model) was certainly an attractive woman.
My issue was more the bizarreness of the bbc spending a couple of days (they covered the Westminster Mile the day before) promoting the health benefits of getting fit, just getting started somewhere, anyone can get up and try running. And then bringing on a group, some of whom were so large they could barely run a few steps, and PROMOTING (that being the key word) that it was ok just be the way your were, and you should be happy with that, which was totally at odds with at their health / fitness message!
The above quote made me laugh because it touched on something I was considering when I posted this thread - there is no way in a million years they'd have had on a group of fat, beer bellied men saying "yeah, we like drinking beer and smoking cigarettes and just want to be accepted as the way we are and say to other men that it's ok just to let yourself go"!
