I had no idea who he was before seeing this thread.
What event does he do?
He does the event that pays him $3.7 million per year.

Exactly right. Boling will be doing that same event. Book it.
Ted Ginn is at the tail end of his career, has lost a step, has missed half of last season to injury and is a far cry from making the team this year to begin with.... he's struggling for relevancy
Saints Fan....
Pole to pole?
This kid is doing ultras now? What a talent!
If you say you don’t know who ted ginn you’re probably not a big track fan and under the age of 21. Ginn is an American football player for the New Orleans Saints. But.... Ginn was also one of the fastest sprinters out of HS. Dude ran like 10.5 and 46 in the 400 his junior yr. then I remember senior year he was the best 110h in the nation was a mid 13 guy over high hurdles. Ginn could have been a pro hurdler had he pursued it through college but what money does that make compared to NFL money??
Boling should definitely do this even if he has to pass on the money. We always want track athletes who can entertain us in the press and then whenever one tries to get attention the trolls devour him/her. Cheers to Boling and Ginn for making things interesting.
I saw Ted run several times, in Dayton at the state meet and in Mansfield at the Mehock relays. Dude was unreal fast. He could run anything from 100 to 400, over hurdles or flat. I saw him run 13.78 (110h) and then 38.47 (300h) in the same day in 2004. This was early April, too, which is pretty early in the season in Ohio.
Boling 100% destroys Ginn at 100 meters, 120 yards (if they go goal post to goal post), basically any distance greater 40 yards. He's also almost guaranteed to win at 40 yards.
Current Ted Ginn would lose to a lot more HS sprinters than just Matt Boling. How about with one of those post-season meets, put Ginn in a lane and the other 7 lanes fill with the top HS stars. I bet Ginn loses to all 7 of them.
1) Boling would win. Ginn Jr. is old and far from his track training days.
2) This kind of banter/these kind of events are GOOD for the promotion of Track and Field. Shame on those shaming Boling's response.
3) Ginn Jr. is more popular worldwide than any current sprinter, but was not more popular than Bolt. Fantasy football is a big deal.
Maybe relevant - my list of top 100m times for NFL players.
Ted Ginn, Jr. barely makes the list with a 10.5 adjusted for hand timing, wind conditions unknown.
Nike pays more than NCAA. He's not going to waste his best years in college.[/quote]

Young runner would be completely lost without teammates his/her own age and the competing in the excellent school
system our country offers.....
Now, it the sport progressed to where a lot
of kids his age were going pro that would be fine. But as it is, he will miss the best years of a runners life --- that
being his high school and collegiate experience. If it's meant to be the money will be there after college and if not there are plenty of other ways to earn a living in our country.

It is more dignified than having to race horses like Jesse Owens.
