All your points are well stated . The other glaring omission from the media is , the diamond league is a "pro sport" league. entertainment value , the creation of a fair competition for all individuals , and the ability to market the league for profit. last nights doha women 800 , Semenya could have worn grey sweat pants and a school back pack and still won easily. this is boring, predictable , and the IAAF have a right as a pro league to create a compelling competitive live 800m event .
The Canadian football league limits American players , this is discriminatory , unfair to Americans , and biased to Canadians , but as a pro sport necessary to survive in Canada, and within CFL's rights to protect its product . The was legally challenged , and the bottom line ruling was that the prime objective of pro football , was an entertainment event, and that rules requiring the CFL to promote diversity/Nationality et was never a mandate or objective of the CFL.
