Didn’t LV just break the 4x16 or 4xmile record? So aren’t they the best track program of all time?

“MilesplitUSA” gathered a large pool of data comparing all of the nation’s track and field program’s success over the past 10 years in “A Decade of Dominance: The Best Boys Teams Over 10 Years.” They took each team in America’s fastest time for each distance event, 800m, 1600m, and 3200m, over the past 10 years and averaged out those times for each race. Loyola High School nationally ranks 2nd in the 800m, 3rd in the 1600m and 6th in the 3200m , for a nation leading average of 3.7. The second best program is Dana Hills (6) followed by Great Oak (9), and Southlake Carroll (9.7). Loyola has dominated the track scene over the course of the last decade, and could perhaps be attributed to phenomenal coaching, led by Dr. Lalo Díaz.

Loyola definitely makes an argument. Not only having super star runners but very good runners every single year.
Take a look at their school records, basically all set by different people/teams, which shows their ability to create superstars consistently
800m - 1:51 - Brian duff in the 90s (mason Ratkovich is a senior though who ran 1:52 last year and is going for the record).
1600m - 4:00 - Elias Gedyon - 2011? 2nd at NXN as a Junior, D2 national champion in college
3200m - 8:49 - mark matusak/Robert brandt. Mark Matusak - multiple time state champion, footlocker 2nd place i believe/Robert Brandt - cif champion, nxn all american, etc. mark becoming a sub 4 miler and both being all Americans in college
4x1600 - 17:12
DMR - 10:02
4x800 - 7:40
Don’t forget to mention the late David Torrence ran for them, and 3:55 miler charlie marquardt. They don’t burn out their kids for college and beyond
6 state team titles, 2 trips to nxn, one of the deepest programs in the country, multiple CIF champions/state champions/ national meet individual qualifiers... you get the picture

Do you bow down and face them five times a day and pray?
Hate is a beautiful thing - an art form - on Letsrun! Doesn't matter who you hate - it could be LV, it could be an Affolder, it could be the bigwig pro runners and coaches, etc. As long as there is an expression of hatred, even if it is veiled, there is rejoicing in the streets.
All of that work for nothing. The topic is the best team of all time, not the best school or program’s all time bests. We are talking about the 2018-19 LV team as compared to other teams present or past. LV is number 1 and Affolder will be number 1 by the end of the season.
ah, maybe i misunderstood, since you guys are talking about best team of all time in terms of one single year. I do think there is something inauthentic about a team with transfers in terms of counting for the best teams ever, though.

your intense devotion and obsession over this one team kinda delegitimizes your argument, though, with your over-the-top statements and saying things like "Affolder WILL be number 1". rather than saying "I think Affolder could be number 1 by the end of the season," you are setting yourself up to be proven wrong if he is not number one by the end of the season (I really don't think he will be). LV is definitely an incredible team and they turn kids into very strong runners, but with that being said, they would not be close to this number one team ever without their transfers. Relax with your immature glorification of this one team who you quite literally are "fan boy-ing" over.
why non loudon valley at penn relays
Why does everyone have issues with transfers? Do the families have to be third generation before you guys recognize them as a team? They are legit and they are the best ever. Affolder will break 4 this year and you haters will say it isn’t good enough because he drafted for 1200.

This dude or dudette is the worst kiss-ass on LetsRun since that idiot from Christian Brothers harped on and on about how great CB XC runners would be at NXN, which didn't happen. The idiot faded off into the depths of a deep depression, hopefully never to return to LetsRun. LV all the way is a similar idiot.
What is the answer to the question? The people who have an issue with LV is primarily due to the transfer students. Pretty sure if you look into the best teams in the country, you will see that they have transfers. This is due to the fact that most of the top teams are in wealthy areas. Wealthy parents are in jobs that require them to move every few years in order to continue to climb the corporate ladder. LV has many of these and has military families also. The other reason that top running schools have transfers is that many of them are private schools so you will see kids coming from a large radius outside of the normal commenting area. This example would be CBA. LV is the top team in the country by a fair margin. They have good caring coaches. This is a team that every LR member should be rooting for instead of criticizing.

Mediocre times, LMAO. Tell LV to step it up their recruiting because it appears their XC success doesn't carry over to T&F.
I'm just wondering how LV runs such great times at XC but then come Track season their roster turns mediocre (besides their top two, of course).
Your post is so ridiculous lol they just won 3 national titles in track. 2 were national records. But you are saying that they suck in track?

You're not sure why I mentioned the #1 for SLC is running faster besides Sam and Hunter? I mean, wasn't it you who made the statement about how LV had their top 5 in front of him in XC? Does it hurt when I point out basically that LV must have regressed or something?
I don't even know what you are trying to argue. Yes, LV had 5 in front of him in XC, that is a fact. When titles are on the line, LV shows up. SLC can win all the duel meet and time trials they want. LV has the titles to back it up.
LOL still laughing that you think LV sucks at track after winning 3 national titles literally like 5 weeks ago hahahahaha
#1 L-O-L. Who cares about national titles in indoors when more than half the country doesn't give a crap about indoors? Also, that 4xMile relay had two guys carrying the relay team.
#2 LOL. LV's best NXN finisher got his ass kicked in Texas a few weeks ago. He finished like 15th in a 5K. How does that happen? Losing to a state that sucks at XC. What's the excuse? "Texas doesn't do well traveling for NXN so they do better on the track" or something? LOL.
heracles: LV sucks at track
Barry Tinkle: they just won 3 national titles in track
heracles: yeah but those don't count
I'm done with you lol
LV is the greatest HS team of all time but one guy thinks they could be even better. OK. Yes they are so much better than anyone in XC that they could be even further ahead in track than what they are. Should we be worried about NAU right now because BYU is outperforming them in track? I am still betting on NAU in the fall and I am betting on LV.
