Good schools to check out:

Since when is rice or Tulane east coast?
To be fair, New Orleans is less than an 8 hour drive from the east coast.

Central Conn State is a good option as well
Thank you for all the suggestions.
To the one poster that said to take school seriously, I'm trying. My dad passed away and I had a tough time dealing with it, and still do. I'm doing the best I can and the running just helps me get through it.
I'll check out all of those schools thank you.

Make sure to include your hardships in your essay because some colleges might let you off the hook with the lower grades.

I would suggest any of the Atlantic 10 conference schools (URI, George Mason, St Joseph, UMass, St Bonaventure, Duquesne, etc). They are all D1 schools.
He'd have a tough time with Umass and URI
Doubt it. I beat guys from those schools at Franklin Park in XC plenty of times

His grades are not good enough for WashU or Colorado College, and none of those colleges you listed are on the east coast.
Haverford College
You would likely be 'in the mix' at UMASS, Dartmouth.

No way are grades allowing him in at Dart. Maybe UMass Amherst is a great fitter

The kid said his grades aren’t that great. Haverford is very hard to get accepted in.Also is one of the more expensive schools.
Everyone always throws Haverford out there because of Coach Donnelly but very few kids could qualify or afford to go there.
Nope not buying it wrote:

C'mon, man. Dartmouth College is an Ivy league school in New Hampshire. UMASS, Amherst is a D1 school.
UMASS, Dartmouth is a D3 school located in southeastern Massachusetts. Last year's track team was nationally ranked in D3. This kid could contribute to the program if he keeps improving.
Johnson Wales
Roger Williams
Salve Regina
Western CT State University
Brand new program, track added within a year, good academics.
With your grades you'd qualify for academic money.
check out university of saint mary in kansas, good team and good coach. Always has a strong performance at nationals.

In what world does "Western Connecticut State University" have good academics?
It's an accredited college. That's the best you can say.
DeSales University in Allentown PA will accept you. Great program and coaching staff.
your grades are not up to snuff
Theses schools might not be east coast enough for you, but you should also consider Mid-American Conference schools.

That's dumb. Plenty of schools to pick from.
Stay high D2 or mid d1
