What do people think about this weekend's NB GP meet? I was just looking at the entries and it seems like we'll have some exciting action or at least a few storylines to follow. I few things I noticed:
Women's 5000m
Jenny Simpson officially moving up? There has been talk about this for so long. Hard to imagine she has the wheels to keep up with Houlihan in this event either but probably has the potential to be US #2 here. Could be potentially see something big from Konstanze Klosterhalfen here now that she's with NOP...?
Men's 800m
Donovan Brazier returns? If he can stay within sniffing distance of Clayton Murphy I'd consider it a solid return to form, but not expecting much from him here.
Women's Mile
Pretty deep field, but is presumably be set up for Emma to take an easy W. I wouldn't be surprised to see a breakout from someone lesser known here or a surprisingly good performance from a veteran who hasn't been so hot. With such a huge field I'd be willing to put money on someone going down...
Men's Mile
Kejelcha should be able to jog to an easy 3:5X low in his current form which is faster than anyone else can run but it will be interesting to see Knight toe the line. Willis is probably getting a bit long in the tooth to be competitive here.
Men's 3000m
Maybe the most exciting race of the evening? Cheserek vs Gebrhiwet should be a nice battle to watch, with some random USA talent maybe having a breakthrough. If it's a slow race O'Hare has a shot too.
Women's 500m
Sydney McLaughlin's first race in god knows how many months? Will she go for a fast time to set the mood for 2019 or just coast to an easy victory in her NB singlet.
Any other thoughts?
