In fact, there's clear scientific evidence that the benefits of doping substances like epo, cera, steroids, testosterone remain long after active protocols have been discontinued.

1:16? Really? That would be like a marathon in the 2:39-2:41 range. His PB is a 2:46 in 2007.
If only it worked that way all the time.

This is a good point. Does a long period of PED usage confer permanent or nearly permanent physical performance advantages on the user?
Yes, of course, but again, who cares? Let the guy run an 80 minute half. As long as he doesn't take prize money it doesn't affect anyone else. We all know he doped and his results aren't clean. He knows it too.
Yes, he is still benefiting from doping versus if he never doped.
I just wish he would be less of a douchbag and tell organizers to take himself out of awards. Instead he wins some stupid age group award he doesn't want, doesn't bother to show up to get it, and then some hobby jogger/biker who does care gets stiffed. Happened a couple times already.

Um, shouldn't the race organizers be doing that anyway?
I have no idea his training, but I think that residual EPO tour/encore 70.3 stuff plus 30 mpw would put him around 1:20 looking relaxed

You apparently don’t understand the type of race organizers that are excited for him to race their event.
I don't care what all the haters say, he is still my hero. GO Lance!!!

There is no such thing as clean when you doped for 20+ years of your life.
I fully expect him to win some sort of age group award and not show up to claim it.
If he wins his age group would he be tested? (he could add another drug test to the already 500+ claimed during his cycling career).

Damn, LA is loaded....look at his Aspen home!
Doping and winning all those TDFs really paid off...he's made out like a bandit!

Name me one Tour de France winner that was not using PEDs?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doping_at_the_Tour_de_FranceIn the eyes of a 1998 German observer:
For as long as the Tour has existed, since 1903, its participants have been doping themselves. For 60 years doping was allowed. For the past 30 years it has been officially prohibited. Yet the fact remains; great cyclists have been doping themselves, then and now.[3]

He won it but all 7 titles were stripped...so technically he's not a 7-time Tour winner. ..and never can make such a claim.

They only did that due to politics, they never stripped Marco Pantani or any other European cyclist of their wins. They only did that to Lance because he was a American. The dude they awarded Floyd Landis win with after he got caught doping, Óscar Pereiro also got into doping troubles.

He had his 15 minutes of fame and blew it, who cares what he does, he was a cheater, same as a guy running only 20 miles of a marathon and claiming his time was legit, this guy and many others all members of the pharmaceutical club. It has ruined running, cycling, etc........you dont know what is real anymore.

Here's two for starters: Carlos Sastre and Cadel Evans.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Sastre"Also remarkable is that Sastre never tested positive or was caught in a doping investigation given he performed at the top level of cycling for many years.[2] Sastre continues to be widely regarded, following the Lance Armstrong affair, as one of the very few 'clean' riders to have won the Tour de France in modern times as he has never been involved in a doping affair.[3] In fact, with respect to doping allegations and admissions that have surrounded Tour winners in recent decades, Sastre has been called "Don Limpio" ("Mr. Clean" in Spanish) by the press and others.[4]"
