So whats the difference between the 4% and the normal Zoom Fly? They both use the same CF plate. But one is $100 less.

To me how much the plate works compared to the foam is not the big concern with these shoes. It is the intension of the plate to be a spring that sets a horrible precedent. It is like someone coming up with an legal PED and people saying we shouldn't care because it doesn't work as well as you think. Where is the line then? If someone sets records in the bionic boots are we supposed to be ok with it? From what I've seen those of us that are against the 4% are consistent in our argument while those for the shoes have never defined a line for when a shoe should be banned.
Keep complaining. Eventually you'll get them banned. Like with golf club square grooves, and the full body swim Razor suits? Or not! In golf, we now have oversized drivers that anyone can hit 300 yards straight. I think the problem with Razor and square grooves is only one company manufactured them. Speedo and Ping. Hmmm....
So i thought I was in 64:30 shape for 10 miles and ran 62:50 today. Shoes are legit. Foot is in right spot on every stride. Had 181 SPM and kept pace even throughout. Won't race in anything else moving forward.

Congrats!
Ran a 5:12 mile solo early December in Peg 35s.
Trained for a month, got a pacer, went 4:54 on 1/5 in the VFs. They felt awesome. Now they're going back into my closet until Chicago.
People have always PR’d and always will. How did anyone PR before this shoe existed?
Elite marathoners we’re running 2:03 and 2:04 before this shoe existed. American men were breaking 2:10 before this shoe existed and now can’t?
Almost every PR I have had came in racing flats or spikes and almost everyone came with improved fitness and months of quality training. The racing flat was the tool, but my new fitness created the PR. When I’m in good shape I buy new racing flats and then normally PR so I think we need to analyze our fitness and not the shoes.
5K PR existing: 19:05
5K PR if with a Nike Vaporfly 4%: 18:19 according to expectations.
There, I said it. And having said it, I'll just save myself $249. (I'm out).

Not Galen Rupp (well, barely...) but BOOM! next thing you know you can chip off 3 mins!
If any mature athlete from any other nation did that kind of over a year or so this site would be going absolutely nuts about it... So is it drugs or did he (literally) start hitting these shoes HARD, move up a level, then knacker himself?

Mainly the weight and the foam used, which contributes to the added weight in the Zoom Fly. 4% uses ZoomX foam and weighs just 6.8 oz, while Zoom Fly uses ReactFoam and the weight is around 8.4 oz. (Somebody please chime in to correct these details if I'm slightly off).

I'm talking about my personal experience here.
Off very little running, no structured training and a few w/o and tempo runs were fitness was obviously lacking, I managed to lower my 10K PB by 2' from 36:00 to 34:00. In fact now that I'm "FIT" my training sessions (done in normal trainers/flats) are nothing special, and have ran better workouts in the past....when I was only in 35:30-36:00 shape.
