Can you guys state your PBs (if any) in all distances running in the Vaporfly 4% and compare them to your previous non VP4% ones?
My case:
10K- 35:51 (Non VP4%) to 34:00 (VP4%)

I went from 35:55 to 34:32 in the 10K...
Gotta test them in the Marathon. Current Pr is 2:52
You don’t really think that was the shoes do you?
I ran 16:10 in a pair of Pegasus. Then 15:40 in a pair of Solarboost. Perhaps Adidas should add a 4% to their name.
Almost as if it's the legs that matter eh

In my case training has been poor no consistency at all and all the times I've been running in training in other trainers didn't show any kind of 34' 10K fitness...more like 36/37'...soooo I don't know what's going on but...one way or the other I'm confused...
I just bought a pair of Nike 4%.
I currently do steady 8.4mph 30mins runs on a treadmill almost every day, so it's easy to spot a difference.
Once in Nike 4%, I quickly realized that my 8.4 pace felt "slow" and went up to 8.8mph a few minutes after the start. Finished with the same HR and overall feel as from a regular 8.4 run.
So, they easily added 0.4mph to my speed keeping effort the same.
I bought a pair and realized I needed to run on trails on my easy days so I bought some yak tracks to run with. They feel a bit odd with that pointy thing on the back. But i can tell my times are faster
Do you guys feel like you wear a 1/2 size bigger in the new flying?

I wear my normal size but if in doubt, order 1/2 size bigger
This thread would be better if people mentioned the shoe they originally ran in
My normal shoe size is 10. I ordered 10. They are "tight", but comfortable to run in. They wrap around your foot like socks, so they need to be somewhat tight. Probably, going 1/2 size bigger might get better feel for some, but it's not going to hurt either way.

I went 0.5 up and have to wear two socks on when running in them. I've got to say I like to feel shoes on the tight side.

In my case I'm comparing New Balance 1500 to the VP4%
My pair arrive tomorrow, excited. Im needing some new socks though, I like them with very light cushioning and thin. Ive tried Stance but they were too thick. Anyone got any good recommendations for socks that will work well with a VF4%.
They are light and that helps. As a heel striker with carbon plate they help with turnover and make me feel less best up in later miles for negative splits.
What were you wearing before?
2:26 marathoner ------> injured and hurt after wearing them
I have small feet. I have found that what works best is to wear a size 6 VF 4% and then wear a size 13 VF 4% over the size 6. The 4% seems to square and I have noted a 16% improvement in my running efficiency. I used to run a mile in 5:00 min flat. With the double VF 4% I ran a mile in 4:12.2 min!

Your PR is soft, i was running 2:50.xx with 36:30 10k, and i'm better at 400 intervals then long stuff.
Just run more mileage/tempos and you'll PR regardless of shoes.
Or...maybe my 10k was soft?!

it blows my mind that people are still so unobservant of other runners, local or otherwise to see their consistent times in 5K, half and full marathons, then they start wearing the shoes and have DRAMATIC PRs, I don't just mean a few seconds, I mean like two minutes per hour of running, that's a lot
there are three independent studies now all saying the average is 4% and some runners get up to 6%
the less efficient and slower a runner is, the more of a boost they get percentage-wise (to a point)
I know there is tons of shoe hype every year with a different brand or model, I've been around decades and fallen for it myself several times, but this sadly is not hype
carbon springs should be banned, including the vaporfly, carbon rocket, hyperion elite, razor elite and the other two in development
nike isn't stupid, they are putting carbon springs into more and more models for damn good reason
and I don't know how we are ever going to put the genie back in the bottle, even if they were made illegal in races and nike went to a pure foam model, people would stockpile and secretly "dope" with them by changing the upper
Why should they be banned? By your logic, should spikes be banned as well?
