An attack on men? Not hardly? It's saying we as a group can be better. Call out the worst of our gender. Let them know their behavior isn't "ok" if you see it. If you haven't run into this in your own life, you must have a very small circle of people you interact with. I've had to call out people for racism, sexism, homophobia, all within the past year.

We, as men, can, and should do better. And if you're already doing those things, as I do, then you probably like the commercial. It's actually reinforcing what we already do on a day-to-day basis in our own lives.

The commercial to me showed men standing up and being men, and encouraging us to do more of it when the situation arises.

Some of you start pointing the finger at other groups in some weird defensive behavior. "What about female toxicity?" Why do we have to distract from this topic? What makes you feel uncomfortable about it?

It's a very weird response to me to feel like you're being attacked by this commercial. I felt like I was being supported and encouraged.

It seems that the anti men movement in Australia is even stronger than in the US (that video is from one year ago. The situation is probably more extreme now).

That Gillette commercial probably went completely unnoticed in Australia. It's probably tame for them.

...so there is probably more room in the US to further silence moderate/balanced views (not simply this particular view). This is a bit scary.

Can we create a new WWW which would outlaw polarizing alogoriths used by YouTube...

At a minimum, could there be legislation put in place which would force mass media to put up a warning before a show? This would help the public to know whether they are watching credible news or not.

News should be impartial , balanced and researched.

Entertainment could be a whole bunch of crazy stuff, such as "I never read your book or saw your movie, but I think that what you said in there is very bad"

Entertainment is fine too, but pretending to be news when you are not is "bad".

I liked the Egard Watches ad too. No doubt a lot of men make a lot of hard sacrifices in this world. I just don't understand why anyone would be offended by a commercial that says, "We can do better." That's just a healthy attitude for anyone to have. To improve, you have to assume you could do better, and reflect on the areas in your life that you could make changes. I don't see why this healthy, personal habit can't be applied to a social group as well. As I said in a previous post, I just think it's weird that someone would get offended by the Gillette ad.

I am not upset my the ad. I don’t think it is an attack on men. It is an attack on behavior we would all be better off condemning.

TL;DR. One thing is for sure though. Sarah Beattie is smoking hot and super funny. Any alt-right meme that uses her simply increases the number of times I get to appreciate her hotness—so I am all for that.

I didn't see it that way. It actually showed several men breaking up fights, stopping their friends from catcalling, stepping in when they saw inappropriate behavior. It showed there are many men out there that are good and trying to stop bad behavior. Did we watch the same commercial?

This was a commercial celebrating people that step in when they see bad behavior and stopping it. I feel like any group I'm a part of, we have to be critical of who we are as a group, and lead the worst of us. To try to help them improve. That's just the normal function of any successful group.

If you take offense from criticism within your group that we could be better, than you're resistant to the fact that there are men out there that are pieces of sh!t. And that we can do something about it. We can police our own. It's not an attack on you, it's encouragement. Unless you're one of the pieces of sh!t. And in that case, I can see how you would see it as an attack on you.

Only the naive believe multi-billion dollar corporations promote "social justice" out of the goodness of their hearts. It is always about the money.

Gillette's market share has been dropping for several years now.

Prices were cut but the decline continued.

Harry's and The Dollar Shave Club and others have taken market share.

That share is mostly all traditional strong independent type males.

Gillette's divisive ad campaign is a cold calculation to sacrifice this rapidly declining segment. In return they expect a greater share of women, betas and gays who will now be more than happy to pay higher prices.

P&G primarily markets to women so they expect some gain across all product lines. The cold calculation is that the divisive ad campaign is good for the corporate bottom line.

Always follow the money.

Cmon man, get off your high horse. Everyone has got their own take on things, and just because mine does not concide with yours doesn’t make it invalid. I’m not offended that you see the ad a different way, I am offended that you won’t permit me the same leeway.

With respect to your serious question, yes English is my native language. I’ve got a post graduate degree so I believe my comprehension is quite adequate. My IQ has been measured at 145, although it is probably a bit lower now as I am advancing in age. I am also a millionaire (US dollars) many times over, so I am probably quite capable and far from stupid.
