Yes indeed that is awful.
Jerry Seinfeld is one of them and you would think he has enough money for some decent men's shoes.

It’s definitely an awful look.
Only certain people can pull it off and only certain sneakers may look good. Problem is, so many unfashionable guys will try and just looks awful.
ESPN guys need to stop wearing them. Especially since they have money, they can get really nice dress shoes that’ll look great as well as be comfortable.
It'll probably be one of those things where we see pictures of it in 10 years and think "what the heck were people thinking?"
I'd say it started because some young NBA players started doing it, because they were told they'd be given some money if they wore the company's shoes. Then some sheep saw it on TV and thought it was cool and started doing it.

How do you think any fashion norm or trend starts? WTF? That's the whole point of fashion, looking cool or good, right?
I suppose you consider yourself not to be a sheep, yet I'm pretty sure you dress just like everyone else.
This looks pretty cool to me. It looks way the F cooler than some dumpy schlub wearing an ill-fitting suit with lame ass "dress shoes" he got from the "department store".
