Of course, there are a lot of ways you could play this, and with women, you never know... And she's very young.
I might try something like this...
Wait a week or so and then, send arrange to send her flowers with a note: "Hey, I know it's challenging to date long distance, it wouldn't be my first choice either. I just wanted you to know that I respect you and appreciate your character and values, many of which we seem to share." (You know something that conveys that you see her clearly as a person and respect who she is.) Then sign off "If you feel open to continue getting to know each other in the future, I hope you'll reach out."
Every story is different. If you're are sincere, and you are, there's no reason not to show a little "grand gesture."
Hey, i know that's a bit corny and old fashioned, but, at this age it's unlikely she's ever been sent flowers before. The first time a woman gets flowers from a guy/man, it's a thing, it's a deal, she'll always remember. Sending a values based message, rather than a romantic or desperate one...is sincere and classy. A memorable. You'll be setting the bar very high for any next suitors.
And the bottom line is, yes, she's young, but, if you really have a change, this move won't put her off, and to the contrary it will make you unforgettable.
Good luck.

Wait, you're in college? Time to date older women and pretend you have mommy issues. You'll get laid a lot more and gain some experience.
I can't argue with this. Solid advice. And get a vasectomy.
OP, take it as a positive.
There are thousands of great girls out there, and most decent guys lack the confidence to make a move. Now YOU have that confidence. Or you should. The shutdown seems very much based in her circumstances, it's not about you.
Enjoy!
That’s why you gott do your core work and up your mileage, bro

Bit later just go for the full send and slide in her DMs.
I can't even find a translation of this in the Urban Dictionary,
Bit later = that same night/day
Full send = all in; committed and comfortable even with the potential risks of failure ("Geronimo!", For the baby boomers)
Slide in = Approach unexpedtly
DMs = Instagram direct messages

Serious question, at what age would this approach be considered creepy?
Turn yer head left and smell yer left are pit . Now turn right and smell right arm pit . Do they smell the same or different ? You understand now ?
It will never work out unless she ends up at your university. Focus on girls at your school. Proximity makes or breaks relationships at that age.

"Dipped"?
Wait let me take a step back -- is this actually how humans write these days or was this meant to be a parody?
She just wants to try out the hockey team.

Kickers aren't really part of the team

Thanks. I see that the Urban Dictionary does have an entry for "slide into the DM's."

Yeah, I wondered about that, too. The Urban Dictionary says this:
https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=dippedWhen I was a teenager, I constantly relied on my American Heritage Dictionary and a few other scholarly works to learn more about the meaning, nuance, etymology, and usage of words and phrases that I came across. Now I rely on upvotes and downvotes on the Urban Dictionary.

Seeing someone in public then finding them on social media and cold messaging them is what people do?
Im 30 and don't use the internet much and am used to meeting people in person. This social media stalking thing seems too easy but I guess it doesn't matter if it's now normal.
I had to do stuff at the meet and didn't have the chance to talk to her there. We went to different high schools so it was kinda the best option. Its pretty commonplace now.
Watch the Netflix Series "You". Do that and you'll get her back.

At not one point do you mention her personality, ambitions, hopes, aspirations, character in any slight way whatsoever. You only refer to her as in servicing your needs and making you feel good about yourself. You don't sound terribly appealing. What have you got to offer a girl like her with her whole future ahead of her, including not being tied to a socially awkward runner at a different college?
I guess that I should not be surprised, but I am somewhat surprised that there are not more replies like this.
Son, don't idealize women like this. They are people with many flaws, like the rest of us. No woman is perfect and there is more to her than the superficial characteristics and how she makes you feel. Maybe you should care about what she wants a little bit.
