Actually, he's not at all, but keep believing what you want to believe.
What you see on TV is an intense, hyper-focused man. What you don't see is him off the field. It will change your mind real quick.
To set the record straight on a few things (IMO):
Saban was either prophetic or opened his mouth without thinking at halftime leaving the field. He said "they had some success with copycat plays that other teams had success against us and WE DID NOT PREPARE FOR." Did he really admit he was outcoached and unprepared???? Seems contrary to his perceived ego-driven drivel.
Ohio State DID NOT deserve to be in the 4 team playoff and really did not deserve to even be considered. Losing big to Purdue, struggling and lucky to beat Maryland, Nebraska, Penn State, and a few others was NOT a dominant team. They took their foot off the gas in the Rose Bowl against Washington and had to hang on to win that. Far too many close calls against sub-par teams to be considered for the playoffs and being crushed by Clemson or Alabama does nothing for their future consideration.
It is time to go to an 8 team playoff. Conference champ in each of the power 5 plus 3 at-large. They can be coordinated with bowl games and if a conference wants to keep their conference championship game then that should be viewed as the first round of playoffs for them. Maybe this would help allieviate the gap of inactivity between school's last game and the playoff/bowl which kills momentum and measures something different from the regular season.
Oh, and don't forget that Ohio is becoming the new Alabama. When the 2018 midterms made a big progressive swing nationwide, Ohio went the other way backing status quo politicians, gerrymandered districts, voter suppression, and support of a heartbeat bill and stand your ground. There is a reason young people are exiting by droves. Ohio currently has nothing on Alabama as unfortunate as that might be.
A lot of talent on that tOSU team, and a good, if ethically challenged coach. But you can't get destroyed by a .500 Purdue team (that lost a nonconference game to a MAC opponent), go to OT with Maryland, and barely beat a not very good Washington team and claim that you were screwed out of a playoff slot. Consistency and winning out matter.

Update to my own post...
Alabama:
Educational system: 4th worst (fixed from before)
Obesity rate: 5th worst
Unemployment rate: Tied for 17th worst (fixed)
Violent Crime rate: 7th worst
Per Capita Income: 4th worst
South Carolina:
Education system: 3rd worst
Obesity rate: 10th worst
Employment: Tied for 15th best!!
Violent Crime rate: 11th worst
Per Capita Income: 8th worst
(I'm assuming education means public thru grade 12)
To this day most Alabama residents still don’t agree that blacks should have equal rights. It was one of the last states to accept and they had to be forced by the US military to allow equal rights for blacks. It’s a totally backwards state.
I'd think 8 would be a good number for the playoffs, but I heard on some talking head show that on the five years of the playoffs only two of the ten semis were compelling games. Then add in that with increased rounds there is talk of giving the high seeds home field advantage for the first round. Might as well keep it four teams till the games improve.

Just STFU with your patently false statements.

And note that during that time that state was run by Democrats of all things!

I don’t think I understood you. Did you say the Buckeyes? Is that the team that lost to Purdue by 29? Is that the team that can barely beat a crappy Washington team? Yeah I don’t think so Stevie wonder.
You mean the Ohio State team that is number 3 in the final rankings? The CFP bias towards the SEC is ridiculous. Ohio State had no chance getting in this year with that bias. If Georgia beats Alabama in the SEC title game Alabama still gets in with Georgia. Hell, Georgia almost made it in after that loss ahead of Oklahoma. Ridiculous. The SEC plays their cushy schedules while the real conferences have to beat up on one another.
Yeah, I think we are talking about the same team. The only team you would have had an argument about is Oklahoma and they were certainly better then Ohio State as they only lost to Texas a very good team. They did not lose by 29 to Purdue.top of the SEC is way superior to the Big 10 teams. Your big win against Michigan looks worse when we see that Florida killed them by just as much. Again OSU lost to Purdue by 29.
Few other things about “The” Ohio State are as follows (1) Columbus or C-bus as your idiot fans call it is a dump of a college town, (2) Urban Meyer and Jim Tressel are huge cheaters. (3) can’t the idiot fans just call it Ohio State and drop the “The”? It sounds dumb and are they afraid we would mistake it for Ohio university? (4) Ohio State will never have the mystique like Penn State.

This is not true. Almost 30% of alabama residents are black. If only a quarter of the rest support equal rights for black people, then a majority of the state supports equal rights for black people.
But you weren't including black people in "Alabama residents".
