I believe it is possible. It will definitely take quite a bit of effort and probably even a bit of luck. It would definitely be a lofty goal but I do believe it is doable though.
Given your other PRs it seems that you’re about at an even fitness level for each of the events. Your xc times might be a bit better than track but it’s close either way. Based on my prior experiences I’d say the average 16:50 3 miler should be able to go sub 4:45 at some point in the track season. If you’re looking to hit under 4:40 for the indoor season it will definitely take some extra work. I would recommend speed work and some more mile pace workouts. Ex. 5x400m @ 70sec w 75sec rest.
That being said if your coach already has training laid out for you then definitely follow what he says instead of listening to some 19 y/o kid on letsrun.
