I love the adios, I used it in college and still use it as my road flat. The Sub2, in my opinion, is not worth it.. At all. It feels so gimmicky, I would much rather just use the adios and get the true boost feel & responsiveness.
I disagree with the poster above - I really like the sub2, more than racing in the adios. I feel more of a bounce emanating from the midfoot with the s2. I still race shorter distances in the Takumi Sen, though.

I bet they don't continue the s2, because it's trash. The adios will live on though.

Seeing as they can now be had for under $100, do you still feel they are not worth it? I picked up a pair to try. I liked them better than the original Takumi Sen, which was my last pair of Adidas. I never liked the Boost the few runs I tried them when it first came out. I like the upper and the fit, but they still don't feel as good to me as the Saucony Type A.
I didn't like the sub 2 because the heels are so loose that my feet slide up and down in the shoe, despite having the correct length (right size). If they work for you go with them though.

Maybe eventually, but adidas just rolled out a new colorway on their online store.
I wore them for Boston, and they were awesome in the rain. Rain absorption was pretty much nill, and the reverse waffle pattern had better traction than expected. They aren't as fast as Takumis, but they very comfortable (more than Adios for marathon distances, for sure).
They've been sitting on the shelf since I switched to VFs for races, but on a whim I did a 20-mile trainer in them over the weekend, and they felt fantastic. May make a decent long mileage trainer, if nothing else. Only limiting factor would be how long the boost foam variant in them lasts. Rumor is 150-200 miles (maybe a little more than VFs), although it wouldn't surprise if it was much longer based on running style / body type. I have 60-70 miles on mine and they still look brand new with just a hint of wear mid-foot in the undersole.
I plan to wear them until the boost dies, then use them casually. The first gen is a beautifully spartan shoe, visually.
