MIAC Track 2019

Honestly very disappointed with the results of last nights meet. The only glimmer of hope was that Watcher was close to his PR in the mile and that's about it. I even had high hopes for Joey in the 600 because I think he has an outside chance of making in the 800 this year, but looks like he laid an egg and only could muster a 1:24.5 which is really slow especially if he is serious about the 800.

Hopefully next weekend with more teams running there will be better results and more things to talk about

Mueller runs a 8:22 (8:16 converted) 3k today. That’s a very impressive opener for him, likely giving him a spot in the national meet. Any other MIAC runners have a shot this season?

I'd wager someone sneaking into the mile field. The MIAC is normally good for one of those a year. A Karl Watcher makes sense following his strong opener. Perhaps Wilkinson in the 3k? Joey Cook-Gallardo is a strong 800m candidate.

There were some athletes in 1940's, 1950's & 1960's. A 2:15 Marathoner I promise you is not the M.I.A.C. G.O.A.T.

I was impressed with Frank Gustafson going 4:19, pretty sure that’s a 3 second PR from him? Definitely could see him dropping into the low teens and sneaking into Natty’s

Treymayne Collins went 1:09 in the half marathon which is a faster pace than he ran at cross miacs in 2017. Watch out for him next season

Why is he in this thread? He’s not racing this year, he shouldn’t even be conversation. Why’s it matter if he improved off of his 26:XX race? Easy to improve off of that. Bub wasn’t a national contender, and won’t be next year either. Next!

We’ve got the Olaf Quad today. Wachter vs. Kadrofske in 3k, Rosenau vs. Lerdall in mile, and Hatton vs. Kozlowski in the 800. Any other good meets this weekend? I think Carleton is at MSU. Anyone have heat sheets for this?

last year he won the 1000m,3000m and took 2nd in the 5000m. what events do you think he run and win this year?

The 1000 time he has is pretty much a joke. Plenty of guys that can run faster than that right now. It’s hard to see him compete in the mile considering he’s never done it before. If he runs 4 events again, then someone will out kick him in the 3k day two
