Fast run in a 2nd tier Marathon
Fast run in a 2nd tier Marathon
Seems legit.
Here are her splits. She went out in 68:22!

This was her third career marathon -- she ran 2:22 to win Istanbul last year and 2:22 again to take 2nd in Paris this year. She has a half marathon pb of 66:19 from last year in Istanbul.
Also her agent is Federico Rosa, according to her IAAF profile.

Good move there, including that piece of information.
Now this can become another thread for the anti-Kenyans and the racists of LRC to feast on.

Please explain how it is racist to question an athlete with ties to known dodgey characters?
It is anti white to suspect good old Rosa.
Seems to good to be true from an athlete that has not displayed this level of talent before.
I assume that’s a typo where it says 30,000 professionals races?

That's not why people call you a racist and you know it.
Ruth who? Can you imagine if an American woman nobody had ever heard of suddenly ran 2:18.

American woman who? With two 2:22 marathons ran?
And who has run 66:19 for the Half Marathon who is 24 years old.
If an American Woman age 24 had run 66:19 for the Half Marathon and 2:22.36 for the Marathon, She would be a HUGE NAME on Letsrun.

Are we supposed to overlook the fact that she has a dodgy manager with 5 doping busts in the last year or so?

Imagine if letsrun was around when Bill Rodgers broke out and ran a 2:09?

If there is vitriol against her, Kenyans, or Rosa none of it is racially motivated.

Try to imagine a time when EPO did not exist and HGH was not used in sports and spurious Italian "managers" didn't prey on little-known distance runners.
If a similar thing happened now in 2018 the U.S. fans would be all over him (in a bad way) just like we were with Jerry Lawson.
Where does Chepngetich's 2:18:33 rank for women?
Measure the course.

It's already on the IAAF top lists, tied for #7 all time. She is 22nd all time on the half marathon list.
What's also interesting is all of the top 7 runners, except for Paula Radcliffe, have run their times in 2017 and 2018. These past couple years have been a turning point for the women's marathon and half marathon.

TFN has her as #5. The only ones faster are:
Radcliffe 2:15:25 (also 2:17:18 and 2:17:42)
Keitany 2:17:01
Dibaba 2:17:56 (also 2:18:31)
Cheruiyot 2:18:31
