I know non-professional runners who got cancer.
I see no link showing that running causes cancer. There might be one, but I kinda doubt it.
My theory is that runners eliminate a lot of causes of mortality--heart disease, stroke, lung disease (by not smoking), etc. But we all have to die of something which leaves cancer.
Folks, we are all gonna die. I hate it like hell that Grete has this, but it's not like she asked to get cancer. You can tell the idiots because they talk to you like there was someway you could have dodged the bullet but didn't.
Though I am an atheist, I find the Book Of Job to be a great book for those going through shit in their lives. The reason is because it shows how stupid all your "comforters" can be. They mean well, but they almost always talk to you like it was your fault that this shit happened. And they also act like it will never happen to them.
It is going to happen to you. It might not be cancer, but it will be something. And there's not a f***ing thing you can do to change this. Dying shows just how powerless you really are.
I hope Grete beats this shit.
Out.
