"Luck": you need to stop thinking about luck. It makes it sound like everything was a lottery that you had no control over. Were your grades randomly assigned so that it did not matter what effort you put into the work? I doubt it.
You graduated (or will) because you completed the work necessary to get the degree.
Sounds like you are looking for shortcuts and the easy way out. That will get you far in life.
No job and all jobs can be conducive to running. It is about making choices and setting priorities. Are you someone who will be making money running? I doubt it so what is the big deal?
If you want to have a family, I suggest you worry more about providing for them than whether a job will hinder your running or not. I would say a family impedes running more than a job does.
