get out of the 'IPA or bust' groupthink mindset and gain an appreciation for pilsners etc . ....almost all of them are mid 4% and the good ones are tasty as hell, especially in the summer.
I rarely drink IPA’s, because of the alcohol content and they aren’t my favorite. Good pilsners are hard to make (more so than IPA’s) and I haven’t found a good one under 5% where I am. I am specifically talking about local breweries not buying cans at the beer store. Yes there are great imported European pilsners, but I don’t drink beer at home ever, only when I go out and usually at one of the endless local breweries around where I live.
i almost never buy imported pilsners either, there are half a dozen solid local pilsners on tap in town and another dozen from the region available in bottles. I think the IPA wave has crested and expect in the next few years most towns with a brewery will have access to a local pilsner, or at least something from the region.
