small. but then again, that's what the results page said a couple of days ago. so you can't blame anyone for defending the wrong position. now it's staine's time.. okay..
2:30 is still very impressive.

It is obvious that OldGuy figured it out. On breaking news the organizers of the LA Marathon have just been hired to organize the French Military.
Maybe that's what's wrong with American Marathoning. They keep deleting the first american in each race.
I would not be surprised if Josh Small said that he ran 2:22. He has been known to lie about his times before. Last year at Mt. SAC in the 10,000 he dropped out at 2 miles, but in the initial results he was listed at around 30 flat (his name had been put in the results with someone else's time). He then told a bunch of people that he ran that time. UNBELIEVEABLE! Does this guy sound like Martin Franklin or what?
So, when I initially saw the LA Marathon results with Small listed at 2:22 I was suspicious. Then I saw the photos and it was clear that it was not him finishing in 2:22, but rather 2:30 (without his chip).
Coincidence? I don't know, but the fact that he claims to have run 2:22:07 (when he KNOWS he didn't) certainly doesn't make him look good.
I just wonder, if you're going to cheat and have someone else run with your chip, why wouldn't you have the person run 2:21:59 and get you into the trials?
don't be so ready to accuse people like that. i would have made the same mistake. the day after the race, the results page obviously said the time was 2:22. that was the fault of the race organizers. accidents happen. for all you know, they may have started the clock at the finish because of communication problems. comparing someone who trains hard and is dedicated to running should not be compared to martin franklin. that guy's just an ass.
Sorry I'm confused.
WHOO, you said, and I quote "he told me he ran 2:22" and you said that the "he" you were referring to was Josh Small.
Did he claim the 2:22 time or not? Because the camera has him running 2:30 and we know it doesn't lie.
he said 2:22 because the webpage said 2:22. yes, referring to small.
actually, in a big meet i ran a year ago, i was so tired that i only got a chance to glance at the clock about 15-20 seconds before the finish. i didn't see what time i had finished in; i saw it later when the results were posted.
Wait there a gosh darned cottonpickin minute!
Are you trying to claim that they guy ran 2:30 and then saw 2:22 in the results the next day and said to himself..."whoa, I must have had a much better day than I thought, 2:22:07 not 2:30!!!...awwww shucks I just missed a trails qualifier!...oh well, there's always next time."
I call BULLLSHEEEEEAT.
Your little analogy holds no water. They guy KNOWS he didn't run 2:22:07, no way in hell you're going to convince me otherwise.
Is that a watch I see there on his wrist as he runs under the 20 foot high clock that says 2:30:02????

BULLLLSHEEEAAT
fine. then ask him in person. contact the dude if you're so suspicious. don't just outright insult him on the message board. that doesn't accomplish anything.
I didn't insult him.
Just pointing out that somone is being "economical with the truth" and its either you or him.
I have no way of contacting the guy. I don't know him from Adam. Let him come on here and tell us he honestly believes he ran 2:22, and that he was fine going around telling people about his new PR, and I'll give him the same response I gave you.
BULLLLLLLSHEEEEEEAAAATTT.
I hate to be suspicious of Tatyana Pozdnyakova but I've wondered how she does it for quite some time; I remember that she also won the Houston Marathon in 1999 on a bloody hot day (2:33 or something like that) and then went on to win a half marathon a week or two later in something between 1:13 and 1:15. Other 'elite' that I knew were still struggling to recover from the terrible conditions in Houston. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and suggest that she's definitely a freak of nature.
I think this whole thing is getting out of hand. Am I going around telling everyone I ran 2:22? If you run on the PA roadie series and know Steve Moreno ask him, he was the first one I talked to getting back from LA. As for the error in results I don't know what the hell happened I don't work for championship timing.
If you have a beef with me e-mail me at
and we can talk about it when we both know who each other are.
Looks like you told somebody you ran 2:22.
WHOO says you told him.
Dude you got some 'splainin to do.
loser...
Hey, don't insult the guy. Not very productive.
