YOu know how I know 100 milers are stupid and overrated......
Cause all the ultra-runners get butt-hurt trying to defend their "sporting event" when others make fun of it.
Ever heard a sub 4 minute miler try to defend how hard it was to run a sub 4?
I didn't think so.

What if you tried 100M carrying concrete blocks in your hands and having nails driven through your feet? That'd be pretty hard.
Yes it would be but that has nothing to do with the topic
The thread is about things that are hard to do. What I presented would be very hard to do.

100 miles in 16 hours is way harder than some sub 4 min miles lol
Hmm11, You might want to look up C.Sanaday. I don't think he's lying.
That's great, too bad sub 16 wasn't the original argument.
"100 miler is the hardest thing ever"
Try again.
And if there were money in sub 16 hour 100 milers, or the general public gave a $hit about it, then you'd see more people do it. But the fact is most people don't care about running in general, let alone some hobby jogging bull$hit at 10 minute pace. (16 hours is 9:36 pace) for what its worth...

Which is fast as crap for 100 miles something you couldnt do in a million years

You definitely aren't talking about running.

Wether you trolls wanna claim walking and stopping to get a foot rub at an aide station isn’t true running blah blah....a 100 mile run is the hardest thing any runner could do period. Maybe not for pure anerobic redlining, but for pure will power and muscualr endurance nothing beats it.
There’s a ton of confusion here of exactly what the limits to ultra running should be before it turns into insanity. I agree, and the answer is 100 miles in under 24 hours. Anything over that in terms of time or mileage isn’t running and I agree.
But before you critisize me or anyone go try to do, whether walking, hiking or running, 100 miles in 24 hours or less and then get back to me.
Here's a question.......WHY?????
I agree that this is a "Form" of running, although I don't consider being able to stop and drink/eat as a true test of 'overall' running endurance. Yes, there is the excessive physical grind of "Run-Jogging-Slogging" for 100 miles but not the excessive anaerobic cardio grind that is a key factor in the definition of "Running". It seems to me that Ulta-Running is more of a survival and personal torture endeavor that fills a void in peoples' lives and not so much a competition against other runners. In the end it is a "Form" of running (jogging/slogging), just not a complete one.
One thing is for certain, I've been ultra bullied this week from these people. It has been such harsh bullying(reed, not banana bread etc.), that I think the pain for 100 miles would be easy to deal with. I've built up so much endurance from the bullying that I could do well in 100 miles. I wouldn't feel anything. Oh Please and theJeff etc was my main antagonists before, the ultra bullys now make them look tame.
I've run two 100 mile races in under 20 hours and there are far more difficult race results to achieve. I promise.
I suspect running a 5k under 13:00 or a sub 1:50 800 meters is far more difficult to do than even a sub 18 hour 100. Probably even a sub 15 hour 100.
"The hardest thing ever" would probably be a sub 9.7 100 meters. Or a sub 2:00 marathon. So hard in fact that it's literally impossible for you to achieve.
sub 14 in the 5k is definitely harder than a sub sixteen 100 mile on a runnable course.
101 miler would be harder bro.

Do you refer to “hard” as in difficult to achieve? Well, difficult how? Having the talent and training ability to actually complete the task? Or the mental and physical toughness to suffer during the contested portion in question? You lost credit the moment you compared a sub 13:00 5k and a 1:50 800 in the same sentence. Rofl!!
I think the OP needs to walk back his comments about a 100mi event and add that the 100mi is stacked with vertical gain and hot weather making it a physical and mental chess match worthy of the title “extremely difficult” but “most difficult?” Probably not.
I don't even know who you're arguing against!
Anything above 3 hours is SOFT. Go back to your D3 baby running. REAL MEN run the 1500. SUB 4 BABY!!!! WEBB IS BACK! #LongLiveJOOM

Sounds like the OP already walks back a lot.
