I think they mostly film all their own stuff. I've seen Will and his gf at a few things. I've never heard of them paying for footage.
Milesplit preys on super fans exploiting their love and passion for cross country and track and field. The laborers are promised money at the end of the quarterly however it passes through the hands of milesplit first so they all only get a percentage. Translation: 1000 hours of work plus all the start up costs (mileage and equipment) in short three months will net you $600 if youre really good.
Usually $100-$150 for video for a full-day meet. $200-$250 for a two-day meet. They reimburse for gas. The narrower videos (like Workout Wednesday) are ~$75. Articles are only $5-$20.
They certainly prey on people’s passion for the sport, but if high school track is interesting to you, it’s not a bad way to get some extra money.
