This is useful feedback. What's your weight and approximate marathon time?
I love the feel of the sub2, but I'm not sure if they're too minimal for me (165lbs, about 2:45) for a marathon. The adios is my go-to marathon shoe, in part because I get a bit more heel-strike oriented when fatigued, and they still have good pop when mid/heel striking. The lightness and forefoot feel of the sub2 is tempting, though.
You're welcome. I'm not as quick as you, buy maybe a similar build (5'11, 165). PR 3:02 in 2017 (also my BQ time). I ran 3:06 at Boston (2 min pos split) and feel like 2:55 was probably within grasp on a great weather day (I've added and extra workout and 15-20 extra miles a week since I BQ'd).
Going in, I was a little afraid for my feet during the latter part of the race, but my only alternative was to wear an older pair of Boston 6s from my luggage (which are heavier and I knew would hold more water). I gambled with the sub2, and it paid off.
