Okay- I'll cut right to the chase.
At the beginning of the summer, I felt a slight kink in my right knee during a morning run. I iced it when I got back, took a few anti-inflammatory, figured I'd be good in the morning. Well, that wasn't the case. It was worse. I did the exact same thing and repeated it for about 1 week. Until, I had enough and went to a doctor. The doctor explained I had patella tendonitis in both knees, and said take 1 week off. I didn't listen, and took 1 day off and ran. I was running pain-free after all. So, now, here I am, after a full summer, cross country season, and part of winter of running, with bad knee pain again, the same pain I was experiencing this summer/fall. I have taken the last 3 weeks off and went on the elliptical/bike, and have done two runs with 5/10 pain. My knees are still painful, and I'm considering taking all the time off from now until March depending on how they feel. Any advice on what I should do, or will I loose fitness if I cross train almost every day?
