Hi All. I've seen the threads about going sub-3 and sub-2:40 at NYC, but my situation is a bit different. I'm shooting for sub-2:50. Can someone please give some advice about race strategies/pacing?
Thanks in advance

That's a very good question, indeed for 2:50 it's quite a different story. I would start with 10x800 Yasso repeats for the first 5miles, only 10 seconds rest in between though. Helps to get the blood flowing. Rest for one minute after those and drink one of the coca-cola cans in your fuel belt. Then, do a 5k time trial, all out. Rest for two minutes, have another coca-cola. Now you only got about 18 miles left. Mentally, remind yourself that this is just the last lap of your 5x18 workout. Last lap, fast lap! You got this! The third of your coca-cola cans you should only need to drink after the finish line. You're welcome.
Great, thanks for the thoughtful reply. Anyone else?
