Just posted in that URC thread that definitively shows Amy Hughes boyfriend Dave was the one recording all the miles and making log book entries and not any of those other "witnesses". Good for Guinness to do a proper analysis.
With all the funny business and fake information Amy Hughes and her boyfriend Dave Keighley have been spreading around to all the news sites, TV stations, and social media, I think I can conclude that what we have here is a couple of charlatans very similar to Dave and Terrie Reading.

Women runs 520 miles on treadmill in 7 days but doesn't get WR as Guinness says her witness doesn't count

This is just getting more and more comical. Looks like those other "independent" witnesses of the log keeping Amy Hughes claims as evidence were her physio, publicist, and a friend. No joking. Hardly what anyone would call "independent", let alone her boyfriend recording all the miles. I think this is a clear cut case of yet another "charity" runner scam. All the history and background I can find for this duo doesn't look good, especially if you also look back at what she actually did in her "53 marathons in 53 days" that she claims is a world record.
And take a read through the comments section of the Daily Mail article. Looks like there are some people that know this Amy & Dave and don't have a very good impression of them personally.
But the 29-year-old's painstaking efforts were ruled null and void by Guinness World Records who said her partner Dave Keighley, who kept a record of her distance, was not an independent witness.
Miss Hughes, from West Felton, Shropshire, said administrators had ignored other witness statements from her physiotherapist, publicist and a friend.

This is so sexist.

There is absolutely no way this woman can run 520 miles in seven days. In that video her form is terrible, she's bouncing up and down and wasting a huge amount of energy. She claims to have lost 2 stone (28 pounds) during the attempt but does not have the gaunt and haggard look of a multi day runner at the limit of their potential.
Having said that, she is a human being and we cannot know what has motivated her to make these claims. Lots of parallels with Rob Young. Should we be sympathetic or scornful?

I can see 3 results and about 10 medals
Also what about the 53 'marathons'. -

I'm a photographer and also ACE-certified in Photoshop, specializing in beauty retouching, and this photo is the absolute worst example of amateur retouching I have seen. It looks like it was done by a 13 year-old in Gimp.
Carry on. -

74 miles a day. Surely if this was done at a mall, they'd have security cameras to help corroborate. -
'When we applied to do the record and wrote to Guinness, they gave us the option of paying for an adjudicator but it cost too much.
'The alternative was they would send us guidelines telling us exactly what to do so we took that option and put everything in place.
'We streamed the whole thing on a webcam 24/7, we were live on TV at one point, took pictures of all the key milestones. There were shoppers around all the time. It couldn't have been more public.
If there was 24/7 footage with recordings of hourly footage of mileage (of her running / walking 20 hours a day) I'd believe it. But there but be something missing (they said there was something wrong with the file?) to draw suspicion.
How much does an adjudicator cost?
And is this all worth trying to raise $30k? -
trafford centre doesn't open until 10am so doubtful there were shoppers there 'all the time'

Surprised we haven't seen a "She logged a majority of her miles when the mall was closed and she was free from the noise and heat that mall traffic generates" line yet. -
She claims a marathon PB of 3:38 in this video:

But it's not verifiable because it wasn't in an actual race. -

The idea that a boyfriend can't count miles just because he's a "man" doesn't hold water for me either. -
If that video is truly representative of her running form then, looking at this and her Po10 profile, there is absolutely no way she managed to run 74 miles per day..!
Is it possible that her treadmill was reading in KM and they read it as miles? -

No, that would mean she ran 300+ miles which she is also not capable of. -
true...looking at the video she 'live streamed' she was clearly running faster than 6.2 K/ph...she just doesn't appear to have the pedigree to achieve 74 miles per day.
WIth a marathon PB of 3.18 and has ran numerous ultra and multi-day events, the current world record holder (Sharon Gayter) has true ultra endurance pedigree. Amy on the other hand, has an "unofficial marathon PB" of 3.38 (self timed on treadmill) and has a small sprinkling of 4 hour marathon results and an OFFICIAL marathon PB of 3.53. This is not the typical profile of someone who is capable of running 74 miles a day for 7 days.

She doesn't need to be capable of it because she's doing it for charity using mental strength. People who use mental strength don't need exceptional physical ability.
RY did it on mental strength alone so why can't Amy? -

True, I forgot that running for charity can turn the average 4 hour marathoner into a truly world class ultra runner.
Seeing how much of a performance boost "athletes" get when running for charity I fear this could soon be the new PED for elite athletes. We need to get to grips with this as it's the thin end of the wedge. Imagine Bolt racking up at the Worlds in a "Running for Kids" charity vest and smashing out a new world record. -
Isn't it about time that someone reach out to the news sites and put an end to Amy Hughes spreading fake information around?

Looking at the challenge and available footage I’m pretty confident that she did the 7 days in the challenge (that is to say she was present and running n the treadmill). The issue for me is that without truly independent monitoring it’s hard to verify that she covered the miles claimed.
Running 521 miles in 7 days requires the athlete to run over 74 miles per day for 7 days. Whilst that *may* sound easy to some let me tell you, as a qualified Endurance Coach I can assure you that a run like that is beyond most runners. Indeed, when you look at the world record you’ll see that Sharon Gayter (GB Athlete) hasn’t managed that and, a well know ultra runner named Dan Lawson (also a GB Athlete) managed to run the same distance (521 miles) in the same time frame (7 days).
I’m not saying it isn’t possible however, looking at the known results for Amy it seems unlikely that someone who’s ran a small sprinkling of 4 hour marathons and has an official marathon PB of 3.53 is capable of breaking a world record that several known international standard ultra runners were unable to beat. If she truly in that class of runners then I would love to see her running some 50 or 100K races and wearing a GB vest.
