That's right. Webb closed the last 109m in 15 seconds, 3:41.2 mile pace. So, he had a good deal in the tank. But assuming he substituted that 15 second 109 for a previous 16.5 second 109 and was also able to hold a little faster pace from, say, 1100 to 1200, because the kick would have already started, that's your 3:36 right there.

It was said that AW came through 1500 in 3:38.3 in his 3:53 mile race. So how are you getting these values. If the race was 100m shorter that day, I highly doubt he would have run over a second faster
Webb ran 3:59 indoors but that doesn't mean it was his ceiling at the time. He also ran a very easy 8:45 2M to win by ten seconds over Brannen. If he had had a 2M at Pre to run like Verzbicas, instead of the mile, he would have been in the 8:20s easily.
Alright nerds. Andrew "The Drew" Hunter has stated he is better at the 5k and is only running the 1500m for lower-end speed. He said he needs the experience to throw down a 56 second lap at the end of a 5k to be competitive.

3:36 isn't anything other than 3:36.... who's to say he doesn't pull a hammy in the last 100m and gets a DNF??

I didn't really look it up, because I actually already had the data based on a stat/USA list I contribute to. I knew the answer was not what was stated, because I actually had to decide how to list Hunter.... as either Drew or as Andrew. And since results list him as Drew more often than Andrew, then he gets listed as Drew Hunter in each event that he has a top mark: 1500, mile indoor, mile out, 3km, etc... just to be consistent.. But prove someone wrong? Worried? Peculiar use of time? I guess so.
Ran 3:43 today. Anyone see the race?
Judging by the other times, it looked like he had a subpar kick in a slow race.
The IAAF has underscored mile times. They assume that a mile can be run at identical speed to your best 1500m pace. The same with 1k times compared with 800m.
"Fastest White Guy" Steve Cram and famous for his youthful performances, was one second faster at the same age. Ended up at 3:46.3 for the full.
