She may not win here. But I sure as heck hope she does.

I'm as liberal and for universal health care as the next feminist, vegetarian atheist but I don't think lack of universal healthcare is what's the issue is here.
I remember reading that Gabe had just missed out due to timing and space on a clinical trial with a doctor in NYC, whose cost would be covered under insurance (or by the trial conductors). I believe now she is trying experimental immunotherapy drugs not in a clinical trial setting to see if anything works against the particular mutation she has. She may have to pay for most of it out of her own pocket.
Even with universal healthcare, like in Canada, experimental therapies are not covered by insurance. Many Canadians cross the border to seek experimental therapies and faster treatments (their wait time are horrendous).

Perhaps it's time for Gabe to consider alternative/holistic approaches. Chemo isn't the only treatment out there.

yeah there have been extensive clinical trials to ensure thats not the case. obviously other people have considered the fact that medicine has side effects.

Why aren't they working for her then?
I've never seen anyone go through those types of treatments and come through them healthy, so I'm not buying the clinical trials. However, I've seen many people use alternative or self treatments and get healthy again. The proof's in the pudding.

So all the women who had breast cancer and were successfully treated with surgery and chemo don't count?
Of course the women who survived those treatments count, as well as the many more women who died from them. They are brutal and barbarian methods that dramatically increase the death rates and it's a travesty that they're still being used.
Read Griffin's book and it will explain everything. Laetrile is not patentable nor profitable, therefore it was banned as a treatment in the US. It is effective, safe, and cheap. Or try chemo, it has a horrible success rate, costs a fortune, and makes you miserable. I know multiple MD's who have told me they would never ever even consider chemo.
