Why doesn't Nike have these meets in Europe where everyone is presently racing?

Hoping to see Blankenship take over at 1k, run out of gas with 100m to go, then post about being a hero. It's so inspiring!
Any footage of the Mixed 800 meters All-Comers race? Not often you get to see both a 1:54 and a 3:11 athlete in the same race.
That would be much more entertaining to me than anyone putting the shot.
sorry but starting these meets with the 30% bodyfat field athletes jiggling around on camera just puts me off a bit
if I was a random viewer tuning in and didn't know what I was looking at, I am pretty sure I would not continue watching and wait for the track people
sure they are way stronger than me but couldn't they make an effort do a few laps daily when they come to the track to practice - those beer bellies are just weird to see
i know it's shot put and I personally hate shot put, but hearing the announcer say, "And she is the reigning Olympic Champion" then the camera pans to show the sh!tty throwing venue with the high school level crowd... man, that made me a little depressed.

Not any worse than seeing you anorexic stick figures gimp around pretending you are athletes.
yeah the HS feel to this whole thing is just so weird
I don't know how they could make this better but it feels so low budget and cheap despite the athletes actually being elite
I didn't know the field athletes so I am googling them as they mention them
Michelle Carter has serious lifetime achievements that are impressive as hell
good thing too because her 260 pound body weight is more than twice of mine
do field athletes lose their strength or something if they lose weight?
I mean would she just not be as strong in the shot put if she was 200 pounds?
serious question, I really don't know and the men seem even worse because they have lower body fat percentage, just more of it

And now a different announcer is begging the spectators from the main stadium to walk over to the shot put area to watch "Olympic champions, Athletes heading to the World Championships in London, etc.."
I'd be seriously depressed if I was one of the shot putters. The people in attendance would rather watch the All-Comer's 400 meters, which by the way ended with the following results:
1 Andre DORN Unattached 50.56
2 Shane POLINSKY Unattached 1:00.09
3 Eric VENTURA Unattached 1:02.86
4 Dennis DOYLE Unattached 1:03.55
5 Renee ST. CYRA Unattached 1:07.33
6 Anna FORQUER Unattached 1:15.70
7 Hayden LLOYD Unattached 1:18.03
8 LT HUCKINS Unattached 1:22.52
9 Liam FORQUER Unattached 1:32.42
10 Bella WELLS Unattached 1:33.08
11 Miller BOWERS Unattached 2:03.83
12 Ronin TIBAYAN Unattached 2:06.52
13 Caitlin STEELE Unattached 2:24.17
14 Yen TIBAYAN Unattached 2:31.01
15 Helo TIBAYAN Unattached 2:33.40
I really, I'd rather watch that too, but did the announcer really have to make note of it and depress all the shot putters?

The words and actions of an Olympic 1500m finalist do tend to be inspiring . . . I agree.
The All-Comers mile has ended (5:06 ftw) so a lot more people have ambled over to the Shot Put area. Now it more like a high school championship type crowd though the venue is still looking pretty scrub.

If you really weigh 130#, then your rant makes sense, little buddy.
not a guy but actually less than half of that
somewhere between my weight and her weight is probably something sane
still I am impressed by how easy she makes it look to throw a 9 pound ball sixty feet, which would rip my arm off, lol - she also is very consistent which is probably why she is elite
annnnd now we have 15 minutes of dead broadcast time, so weird
Mmm... strong wind (2.2m/s). Not good.
Wow. A free, good quality livestream that works here in The Netherlands.
As a Dutch fan of American Track and Field; I find this a very nice surprise!
Now, to stay awake for that 1500 meters.
What's her real age? What year was she born? Was she born in 1989 or 1999? I like it when they put the age in the results. You never really know their real age.
Nike can't afford the airfare and AirBNB for all those people.
There are fewer than 300 people watching this meet worldwide.....for free.

A list of people who still have a shot to go to worlds. The higher on the list the more likely, lower people on this list need everyone above them to miss the standard
Roby Andrews
Craig Engels
Cristian Soratos
Jordan McNamara
Samuel Prakel
Josh Thompson
If none of the above run 3:36 or faster, Ben Blankenship goes to worlds. I'm confused as to why Jordan, Sam, and Josh aren't in this race. Presumably, they will race elsewhere [possibly if no one here achieves the standard]
those guys are not racing here because they either didn't want to be part of the tracktown summer series or didn't get picked for the teams. Prakel might even still be in college, which makes him ineligible.

the whole point of this series of meets (which I don't believe are sponsored by nike) is to expand track and field in America, so hosting them in Europe would make zero sense.
I'm the stadium, they've covered up 60-70% of the seats to concentrate the fans here for better crowd shots.
