Is there any evidence finasteride affects athletic performance? I've seen the idea thrown out here in letsrun that Alan Webb's performances suffered as a result of finasteride. However finasteride was a banned substance because of its ability to mask steroids. If pro athletes were using finasteride with doping, it would go without saying that it probably had no negative effects on athletic performance

Do a search about the class action lawsuits, lingering negative side effects of dht blockers, finasteride, propecia. You would probably need to be doping to offset this drug...
If your a runner these negative side effects would have a greater chance affecting you. That's great if there are advocates with no side effects many of whom claim Fin. increases testosterone but it also increases estrogen abnormally increasing your body fat, feminizing etc.
Do any older runners here have any experience with finasteride? My PSA is 14. Biopsy was negative. My doctor has suggested I start finasteride for BPH.
The side effects of finasteride imply that it would inhibit athletic performance, but I can't find anything for sure. I was wondering if anyone here is taking it and whether they had any negative performance changes.
Used it for years (maybe 10?) and never noticed any negative physical side effects pertaining to fitness.
