In the Winter I will usually go underwear and a sweatshirt since i can get super cold and the wife may end up stealing all the covers. In the summer, just underwear.
Why not?
And who cares? Do what ever you want in your bed. Just make sure to wash you sheets on a regular basis and have a good mattress.
The habit of sitting in bed or even sleeping in the same clothes that we wore outside in the bed in which we sleep is more common than we might think. And I found some t-shirts with the inscription thou art mine on https://thouartmine.com and I find it strange to be so written on a T-shirt. On my birthday, I had such a threesome, and I usually slept in it at night. Until my mother noticed me stop sleeping in the clothes I use outside. Do you sleep in the clothes that go out in bed?

I've never understood this. Why would you wear underwear or pjs or anything to bed? It seems so uncomfortable and pointless, unless you're a senior with a dribbling problem or something. I'm almost 50 and haven't worn clothes to bed since I wore pjs as a little boy.
Survey: clothing of any sort when sleeping, or nothing on? I want to know if I'm in the majority or minority with this.
Discus.
You can also ask why anyone would wear any clothes while just walking around at home. If you are not dribbling on the floor, why wear anything? People do what’s most comfortable to them. Modern humans are so used to clothes that au naturale feels strange to many, perhaps most people on the planet, so they take clothes off only for things that really need clothes off (like showering or sex) and being clothed is our default skin.

I have that ick factor too. I sleep in a tshirt or base layer top and underwear, shorts, or long base tights in winter, but treat outside and home wear like church and state. On rare occasions, when I’m sitting in outside clothes on the bed against sham pillows and outer comforter and not touching inside white sheets, I fall asleep and creep inside the whites coz I’m too tired and sleepy to change, but then I feel that oh sh1t moment when I wake up in the morning.

I live in a house that can get quite cold, so in the winter I'll wear a T-shirt to bed. But otherwise, nothing. Do they still sell pajamas? I haven't seen any i n about 40 years.
This post was removed.
My dog frequently jumps into bed with me. I love the pup, but not in a "let's snuggle naked" kind of way.
I wear thick pajamas because of morning wood. Lol.
I always sleep in my underwear, a clean running shirt, and probably running socks. I do this because i hate changing clothes several times a day. Now that I work from home (remotely), after i shower following my daily run, i change into the next day's running shirt and socks, which i will wear to bed,
If I have an online zoom meeting, I just throw a more presentable shirt or sweatshirt/sweater over the running shirt.
In the hot part of the summer, i take the shirt and socks off to sleep,
Are both of you female? I would guess that you are,
I am a guy and in the cold nights of winter, a few times i have just slept in the clothes i wore all day., Not overly proud of it, but it's not like I won't do it again, either,
Old habit, from military background maybe, sort of ready-to-stand and serve) and, I assume since I run daily a shower is nice.!) , and change "unders daily" so no concern about hygiene. And I never have understood--beyond tradition--the need for pajamas. In cold country more bedwear of any kind is goods, as long as clean and warm. No skinny sleep for me. And I find sleeping in a tee at least and shorts or loose "balloon pants" more comfortable. I have been asked why I don't wear pajamas and I have no better answer than "why?!"

Do you rigorously sterilize your anus on a regular basis? Try smelling your crotch then think about how that is getting wiped all over your sheets every night.
I wear PJs to bed for that reason and also because I have nightmares about my house burning down, confronting burglars, or getting abducted by aliens in the middle of the night, and the thought of being butt naked during any one of those scenarios is pretty uncomfortable.
Where is your anus, on your forehead, thigh, middle of your back? Maybe you sleep without your colostomy bag?
Most of the rest of us are blessed with enough butt-cheek to keep our well kept anuses clear of our bedding.
No. I don't even own underwear or "bed clothes".
