Iceland (population 300.000) won England (population 60.000.000?) in euro champs final, so England can't be that much into soccer

For the country of Texas, high school football.
Texas is a republic not a country, and Texans (especially the moms) are more passionate about their cheerleading than about football

Kenya would trade all those running medals for a chance to play in the World Cup.
Counting college football and the NFL I would guess American football. World cup is once every 4 years, apples and oranges to the Super Bowl. 80,000+ people are packing college stadiums this month for scrimmages in football's offseason.

The question wasn't which country are the best at a given sport.

Philippines love Basketball, go deep deep into the jungle, after working the farm and fields, every evening you find a game carved out in the palm trees.
another one for Indians and their cricket...
Say to the next Indian you see "Virat Kohli is a d***head" or "Sachin was overrated". After being lectured, possibly threatened and in the case of the former, occasionally even agreed with, see if there's a nation out there more passionate about their sport than Indians for their cricket.
Steph Curry is popular in my native India.
Australia - Aussie Rules Football
England love soccer. Best topic of conversation if you meet a brit. Our national side is terrible but England is home to some of the best football clubs in the world.

Not if they are upper class, then they will act like they never watch or care about soccer

Except in the biggest and 3rd biggest states.
Soccer in a lot of countries is probably correct, but it is a truly pathetic sport.
Rugby in New Zealand, Cricket and Field Hockey in India, Rugby League in Papua New Guinea, Baseball in Japan, Shooting each other and being really fat in USA.
Italy rivals Brazil for soccer passion.
No country for track ?
I think Canada for hockey. They could have five more NHL franchises.

No way, rich countries are rarely among the most passionate about something like sport. They dont "need" it as much as other countries.
Iran loves wrestling if I am not mistaken.
