Nobody Qatar is the place that buys it's athletes, we just have a great country which draws foreigners to immigrate here and become citizens. Way to imply that we buy athletes dicksnot.

Right, we don't buy athletes, the shoe companies do it for us to have a winner to sell us more shoes.
We got Lagat and Meb! We just need to wait for more to defect. God forbid we actually have an American represent America in the next olympics.
Meb is about as American as they get
He and his family worked their asses off to get here -- most of just showed up in the delivery room here and that was it
What makes these guys less American? They are citizens. Do you mean you have to have a white guy go to the Olympics in order to qualify as an American?
If we want to make sure they are "Real" Americans, we might have to bring back Billy Mills.
Humans didn't evolve here. Mills' ancestors came from somewhere else, just like mine did. He's no more American than me or Meb.

So shoe companies = USATF?
So shoe companies = the US Government?
How many non-US athletes get sponsorship from US based shoe companies? I do not see all of them coming to the US.

Therefore, there are no Americans.
Therefore, anyone CAN be an American. Right?

Eh, what I meant to say (and re-reading what I wrote, it might be confusing), is that someone isn't "more" American because their ancestors came in 1880, or ten thousand years ago. Mills, Meb, and General Belgrano are all Americans, except that I'm actually a rusting hulk on the bottom of the ocean, but I digress...
