I'm thinking about attending Sam Houston State in the fall. I was wondering if they offered any sort of scholarships to there athletes (I've run 4:16, 9:13). Also, I was wondering what the team was like and the school etc?

You should leave your e-mail if you want a real response instead of the comments you might get on this message board.
e-mail the coach, call, send a letter. be agressive and let him know you are interested in his school.
The SHSU fellas used to have a website, muggetwarriors.com idk if its still up and running. As far as the team goes, as of last yr. they had one guy w/tattoos of stars on the back of each of his arms and his belly button pierced. Some other guy had a mullet. Seemed a strange bunch, sorry i can't be more help.
Why Sam Houston? If you have indeed run those times, you should have offers from schools stronger than that.
Maybe his grades are pretty bad...Or maybe he wants to go there for a good degree program that they offer...
Hay, check out www.lamarxc.bravehost.com and go to the recruiting page, I think they have a better shot at a championship than Sam, and tend to invest more money in there distance program. You should check them out as well!
If you have run that fast you would be SHSU's fastest guy!!
Email Curtis Collier or Jesse Parker at Sam. Go to shsu.edu and find the email. I am a SHSU grad from a few years back. I had a great experience. The program is solid. Huntsville is a really nice town. The Huntsville State Park is a running gem.
You would get big money in all likelyhood. Who are you?
this is a self promotion attempt by a sam houston affiliate
no out of state kids would be interested in shsu
no instate texans have run 9.13 this year that are not already signed to universities
nice try
email me at stdjep20@shsu.edu
Did you run 3000/1500 or 3200/1600?

Please...Lamar is worse than Sam. At least Sam has been a solid 2nd in the Southland for the past few years. If you are looking for a good Southland school, SFA has been tops for distance runners for a while and is the only one capable of competing on the national level right now. With your credentials, I would stick to one of the top distance schools, if I were you, to maximize your potential. If you want to stay in Texas, your best bets are UT, SFA, and Rice, if you have the grades. UH has also looked good in the past year or so if you can stand running in downtown Houston.
