Why are they so quick to call the London events a "terrorist attack"?

Because as of 4:50 PM EST 3/22, it was officially called a "terrorist attack" by some moron who was influenced by watching ISIS on television. No terrorist group has claimed to be linked to this guy.

Once again the PC folks are proven wrong... Iistend all day yesterday and you could tell the media was going out of their way to NOT say the guy's name because he's yet another Muslim terrorist attacking innocent people.

Today they've made a POINT to say he was "Britain born"... come on folks pull your heads outta your PC @sses and see the world for what it is!

The terrorist attack was by a crazy person with a weak mind.

The big picture still is that terrorist organizations in the Middle East are using the internet to radicalize people in other countries and convince them to give up their lives and commit these awful attacks.

It is a combination that is hard to combat.

And it's just like trying to stop any crazy person from doing something horrible whether they act alone or are influenced by others.

There are a very very small number of these things happening but each one makes a huge impact.

That's the real terrorism.

Not so much what the crowd felt at the time but the lingering fear that spreads to millions of people.

This is a terror attack in my mind, but having said that, I don't really give a sh!t what it's called or when it's called a terror attack. People who get worked up about that are political shills.

Correct. The official definition is more than just 'people were scared'. The term is used by anyone wanting to make a point these days.

According to the above post, if you hide behind a tree and jump out and yell 'BOO!' at someone you are a terrorist.

If someone attacks a group of innocent people in order to make a religious/political statement, that's terrorism.

If the guy had a personal disagreement with any one of the people he killed that'd be different, but he went after nameless faceless people in the name of Islam.

OK I'll expand the definition of terrorism so say that not only do the people immediately affected feel terror, but it puts a sense of terror in the minds of others not directly affected, that it could happen to them.

Which describes this incident.

And maybe I will add that the perpetrators of the act are not directed by a sovereign body.

That would mean that my US military example would not be terrorism.

Or no?
