avg. 9:30 a mile ...sometimes can avg. 8:15 when Im flying
Problem is i've been running for 6 weeks with no improvement?
Any advice,
is it possible to get down to 7min/ mile avg for 4 or 5 miles?
How long will it take and when should i start doing any types of workouts...tempo hills etc.

This was almost exactly me Jan 2016 32almost 33 190+ lbs. you have better PRs but I like you hadn't ran or trained in 12 years
What I did was pretty simple, I ran as many miles as I could and stay healthy and did not wear a watch. Just got in miles. .
Went from 190-165 within 3months just eating healthy. And then down to my current weight of 151-153 slowly (6ft tall)
For me that was plant based I recommend it as I feel crazy fantastic but anything is fine as long as it is almost all whole food and not pre packaged crap.
Progressed to 50 pretty easy by June held that until September and peaked at 95one week in Jan. Averaged about 80-85 mpw that month

Half marathon tomorrow.
The key is consistency and small gains every week and month. If you but enough tablespoons of water in a bathtub eventually it fills up. Take a long term approach.
