It's basically just super deep, extremely hard massage with emphasis on pressure release points. Some people resond to it, some don't. One thing for sure it will make you sore.
I have had it done twice, and agreed, it will make you sore. It will also make you poor. I got a 90 minute session for $90. Costs will vary but still pretty steep. Have you tried a foam roller? I just got one this winter and it basically does the same thing as rolfing. You can get one of those for about $30. In case you didn't know, rolfers use their elbows. Just imagine haven't someone press their elbow hard into your ITB (or whatever part ails you) and you get the picture. OUCH!!
i have a foam roller, and have had one for about 3 years. It hasn't helped at all for the injury I am currently battling.
The Hansons runners all receive Rolfing. It is a regular part of their program.
I had/have ITBS and I didn't find rolfing to help at all. Of course, I only had it done twice. The benefits didn't seem to be worth the cost to me.
You're just a friggin whimp who's happy to wallow in the injury rather than do the hard yards to fix it. Oh, and you're a cheapskate.
Another worthless/bull-shit type of treatment. I invented the best treatment of all. Send me $100.00 and then take a month off for your injury. If the injury doen't feel better take another month off. Forget about thia ART and Rolfing crap.
