She has been at that weight and running at a high level for years without any injuries or any drop in performance. Her weight seems to be just fine for her.
Well, duh. She is young. It is common for young women to perform well at very low weights. However, it can suppress hormones and interrupt regular body processes. The negative side effects associated with this type of thing can often be held at bay throug the development years by simply delaying any development.
However, development must eventually take place and then things can really go sideways for the athlete within a relatively short period of time. That is why most "phenoms" don't fizzle out until late high school or college.
Honestly, I hope you are right and you very well could be. My initial post was based simply on the "eyeball" test as that is unfair. I am a fan of Konstanze and her running style and wish her nothing but the best.
