My legs limit me if I'm training hard, in a race always my lungs because I can ALWAYS run faster I am not racing 5K at my 400 speed unless I've reached my potential but that's long way off.

It depends on the situation. A return to long distance running after time playing other sports recreationally tends to have the lungs as a limiting factor, especially if you've tried to work on your anaerobic ability. Post-injury and relatively aerobic cross training typically will have your legs as the limiting factor.
However, there is another side to this whole thing. I remember one 10k road race I was running at, the first 3k was run at almost my road 5k PB pace and was still holding my own through 4k. Lungs were feeling great, Legs were feeling fine. However, not long after the 4k mark, the side stitch really throttled my pace to the point where I was barely maintaining my threshold pace the rest of the way in.
When it comes to the side stitch, what really ends up being the limiting factor?
My legs have always been my limiting factor too, especially in races. I basically just see how much lactic acid i can tolerate
I've tried running without lungs or legs. Failed in both cases.
