"Sanchez said he was surprised by the suspension, adding that he uses milkshakes and multivitamins to build his energy . . . ."
Damn milkshakes!
Way to nail a big name MLB!
Sanchez is really going to feel the hit in his pocket books with that ten game-unpaid suspension that first time offenses get.
Why am I not surprised it wasnt a big name..?..Did anybody hear Peter Gammons say that Sanchez or whoever the alleged druggie is was from the " track world" before baseball
I think he is innocent. Look at this guys stats. Something is messed up I think. Go get Bonds and the real pricks in this game, not freaking Alex Sanchez..
The cynical observer might think a nobody was nailed right away to make the public and/or media think the testing has teeth while making certain the stars' tests are buried. We certainly saw that in track, right?

This is a dumb post. How good a guy plays with drug enhancement depends a lot on how good they were to begin with.
The guy is a fringe MLB player...he is the first of many expendable scape goats.
Alright, they pick the player with the worst power from arguably the worst team in the leauge. Way to stick it to 'em fellas...They are really cleaning up the game...
Why would any player take steroids when MLB doesn't even test for HGH?

neither does the IAAF or the IOC.

That was indeed my point.
...and I was agreeing with you.

I happened to catch Gammons--since I think he is an idiot, I usually tune him out--I thought I interpreted the statement about Sanchez as being one of those guys who makes his living by being fast; I have no idea if Sanchez has a track background--doubt he would actually.
I love that people criticize MLB for punishing a guy as it said it would when he tested positive. Just because he was not a big name is irrevelant to a great extent. Conspiracy theories are fun, but usually way off base.
Well as Joe Torre said, the tests must obviously be doing a good job if someone was caught with it. But I am hoping to see EVERY member of the New York Yankees be tested. We already know that Giambi has taken them and Sheffield has been training with Bonds, so he is probably using them too. And the rest of them like that poor sport, Alex Rodrigez (who I think will try to hit the sample to the floor after they take it, just like what he did in the ALCS)are probably on them too. Baseball needs to grow some balls and go after the good teams
So he's a Dirty Sanchez ?
