This is to trackhead, or anyone else thats knowledgable about minimalist shoes--is the zoom Marathoner a good shoe? Do you know the heel height on it? I'm a flat-footed overpronater looking for a good minimal shoe. Thanks.

It's exactly 20.232424. Measured it this morning using my GPS unit. Seriously, I'm all for training in flats but some of you take it to a whole different level. If you want to run with zero difference between heel and toe run barefoot.
Ok now a serious response, you're a flat footed overpronater. You don't need a minimal shoe. You're the type of runner that actually needs some major support. As far as the Nike Marathoner goes, it's a good shoe to train in IF you're light and don't pronate across two lanes of traffic. If you're still determined to train in a flat being an overpronater see if you can find the Nike Ghost Racer. It has a very nice medial post that would help your pronation problem.

The profile of the Zoom Marathoner is very similar to that of the NB 900. If it fits your foot well, it could be a good shoe. Essentially, the thicker the midsole, the greater your need for a "break" or post. The Pegasus Racer is higher in the heel (much closer to a training shoe) and therefore the post adds a touch of support. If you are transitioning from a conventional trainer, you might check out the DS Trainer, which is low, but very stable. If you already in a lower shoe, the marathoner might work very well.
i tried it and didnt like it suprisingly. Then 5 min later i tried the streak xc...wow blew that crap outta the water.
I want to eventually run barefoot but I need a transition shoe. If I stick to trainers and orthodics my feet will remain super injury prone. How else am I supposed to strengthen them?
some of you guys are such candy asses! just go buy a light pair of shoes and run in them. then take them off sometimes and run barefoot.
it amazes me how much some people need their hands held to do the SIMPLEST theings! i bet you're a huge mama's boy aren't you?

Any of you minimalist runners actually any good at running? Or do you just like to look different jogging down the road in racing shoes? Do you also like wearing cotton baggy running suits as opposed to polyesters and nylons?? How about retro sweatbands??
